X-Fest weather should be manageable!

If you have been holding off buying tickets for X-Fest because you are waiting on a weather report, you probably can go ahead and make that purchase now.

According to Weather.com, the weather for show-time should not exceed 100 degrees and by the time that Simple Plan hits the stage, it should only be slightly above 85 degrees! I really hope that stays on track! That would make for a very nice day.

Local band "NOT 4 NOTHIN" aka "N4N" has recently been added to the X-Fest bill. N4N will be playing on the "Hawk 104.1" stage at 8:30pm sharp. Not many local bands make a "main stage" during X-Fest. B

I try to keep an eye on things around Modesto, but I am not sure if I have missed something today. It is only 8 am, but already I have received two phone calls and three emails from people wanting to win X-Fest tickets.

Today is the day! Are you going to be out at X-Fest? The line-up is pretty solid in my opinion and just about every type of music that you can imagine will be featured.

One of our favorite local artists, Jon Valenti just announced that he was called last minute to rock the Kat Country stage from 7:15 to 7:45. Try to get out and support Jon and all of the other great local talent that will be doing all they can to impress the 20,000 people expected to attend.

I just wanted to write in and wish everyone a happy 4th! I am still not totally sure what the heck I will be up to tomorrow, but I hope that you all have fun and stay safe. There will be a million police officers on the road and may other travelers, so drinking and driving should be avoided of course. Just enjoy the day and celebrate. Where are the best firework shows?

City Council to vote on X-Fest approval next week

Whether you are opposed to promoter, Chris Ricci's plans for X-Fest or you are in favor of them, you will be able to state your case at this Tuesday's City Council meeting. The public meeting scheduled for Tuesday at 5:30 p.m at Tenth Street Place at 1010 10th Street will address a number of concerns including crowd safety and alcohol consumption.

Today, to beat the heat, I took some time to sit inside and eat. At lunch, I visited Harvest Moon (I St). They have changed their menu a bit, and I noticed that my beloved 'Prime Shine Burger' has undergone a name change. Now the "Blue Moon Burger" sits in its place with a slight price drop- the only difference is you do not get a free car wash with your order anymore. And that's just fine with me, because what clean cars and good food have to do with one another is a mystery. Instead of my usual selection, I decided to opt for the "Dinah Burger" with Swiss and found it to be a worthy choice. Topping the meat patty off are red/green sweet peppers, bacon, bbq sauce and mayonnaise. Lettuce, tomato and a pickle on the side. No sweet potatoes for me today.. it was too hot out to weigh myself down that much! Other than the fact that it was pretty warm inside (which was understandable: it was 197 degrees outside!) the food was wonderful.

Ok it is 9:20 on a bright and sunny Saturday and it is already hotter than hell outside. Now…what is there to do today in the valley? If only someone would throw a massive party laced with beer, a couple old school rappers, a 70’s mega-band and maybe even a country star to please all the farms folks. Yeah that would be cool. Maybe even over 250 cops and security guards could even show up to make a few arrests to generate some revenue for our local enforcement programs.Click here for information on a party downtown tonight that might work to fill these specs.

Saturday night I'll be spinning at Modesto Sports Bar & Grill during the later hours of X-Fest, so I decided to throw together a little X-Fest themed mashup track for the night (its the closest I can get to it since Chris Ricci never returned any of my emails about spinning an actual X-Fest mashup set). Taking the two "headliner" acts, Vanilla Ice and Tone Loc, I was able to mash together a wonderful bootleg entitled "Icy Cold Medina" (which I know with the X-Fest heat everyone would love to drink one too).

A stupid criminal, heat, x-fest, skin cancer, meth and Stan the RV guy!

It’s 9:30 in the morning and it is already getting hot outside. That is a bad sign for those of us hoping to attend X-Fest this weekend. I spoke with Chris Ricci last night and he said that the heat could fade a bit by show time but I have my doubts.
