It’s Sunday Morning and I’m getting caught up on the 411 in our Modesto Bee. As I browse through the Saturdays Modesto Bee, I noticed a wonderful piece on our new church that all at Saint Stanislaus have been working so hard to make a reality.

ModestoFamous is a creation and reflection of the community we all live in. From arts to news to culture, ModestoFamous is a voice that is vital to our community spirit.

To that end, I would like to invite anyone interested to participate in an open discussion on how we can make ModestoFamous better on Thursday, March 15, 2007 here at The Bee (1325 H Street, Modesto).

Well, it sure has been an interesting past couple of weeks! I have been interviewed, offered speaking gigs and some guy wants to create "Viva Mojo!" T-shirts! What is the world coming to?

It is all sort of funny to me I guess. Seriously, I am just an oddball little chubby guy with a couple of computers, an open mind and a big ass mouth. At least that is what my mom said! (Just kidding Mom.)

Please allow me to introduce myself – I am Eric Johnston, Vice President of Interactive Media at The Modesto Bee. Over the last few weeks there has been a considerable amount of speculation over The Bee’s role in the operation of the ModestoFamous.com site; hopefully I can answer some of those questions here.

Yep, you heard right. The McClatchy Company has purchased Modesto Famous and Fresno Famous. The Famous team is thrilled with this deal because it will allow the sites to continue on, even if we all get hit by a bus tomorrow. The change of ownership allows for more resources, more features, and more growth.

December 14, 2006 (Fresno, Calif.) – The Fresno Bee has purchased FresnoFamous.com, a local website launched in April 2004 by sole proprietor Jarah Euston. FresnoFamous.com is a website dedicated to cataloging, exploring and discovering life in Fresno. The site is a place people can share opinions, news and information about Fresno.
