Hello all it saddens me to tell you that Mojo is back in the hospital in ICU at the moment. I spoke with him late last night and he as always is more concerned keeping you guys up to date with the happenings in the area then himself so I am ghost writing for him today. So here goes it..whoops? is that a sentence? haha...
Funky Tim is our music guest for downtown Art Walk at State Theatre. Artists include art demo by Jack Morris, Mary Scheinuck, Jim Christiansen, Carlos Mendes Salcedo, Ellie Gould. My love of music started when I was in Junior.High. One of my neighbors was a huge fan of Echo and the Bunnymen and she had an extra ticket to the show. I remember putting on my best sweater (because you have to dress up for a concert! Thanks Mom) and heading to the Greek Theatre in Berkeley to see the show. As I entered the building I was confronted by one of the most mystifying situations I can remember. There were 3000 mods with their jet black hair, cool concert t-shirts, and heavy eye shadow in the audience along with Amy’s dad the neurosurgeon, and me. Her dad and I were the only people sitting and we were propped in the back completely alone. For me it wasn’t far enough away. It was so loud my entire body hurt. It was so hot I spent the entire evening sweating and scratching. I was absolutely miserable. The worst and most humiliating part was I felt uncool for the first time in my life.
Michelle Uber from Modesto Certified Farmer's Market called today, will be doing a new ART at the Farmer's Market Saturday, August 23, 2008. Art displays will be set up in the Library Parking Lot, is for sale, and looking for artists and crafters for the event.
