revisiting modest bee front page news, dumpster diving

Might as well write political football, as Patriots ahead when I last checked the game, and noted walking, and doing Commonality Art Show today, will catch up on furtherance and history of Graceada Park Performance Art Project items, as owe it to one of co-founders, Eric Donnelly, who visited project dream come true, free blues festival in Graceada Park last year, both of us in some sort of recovery, Eric's number one contribution to art project, the local GPPAP dumpster dive union, or which he was founding member, and shop steward.

Cops win, Sin City loses dance permit

This is not really a huge surprise to me, but at last night's City Council meeting, Council members voted 4-2 to pull the dance permit previously issued to Sin City night club on 10th Street. Members voting for the permit to be pulled included Mayor, Jim Ridenour, Brad Hawn, Bob Dunbar and Kristin Olsen.

I want but modesto wont sell

I want to buy a home but the home I want to buy doesn't exist in Modesto and the community I want to live in doesn't either

• I don't want to live in a shoddily built track home surrounded by SUV owning wannabe cowboys with screaming brats and soccer moms and the must of a car ride to get a carton of milk.

Running for City Council

Hello people of Modesto. My name is Brent Maynor and as some of you already know, I'm running for City Council this November. As stated in the Bee and on here I am running on public saftey and education. As a Council member I would like to see additional funding to go to our emergency response agencies such as police and fire departments. These are the people we look to in bad times and when we need help but we are willing to let them have outdated tools, be under staffed and under paid. I would also like to see more funding for our schools here in Modesto to pay for programs for kids, new books, new schools and higher pay for teachers.

Excuses, Politicians, Sprawl and Pea Pods

Last night another city council meeting occurred. You know, I write about this every week but do people give a damn? I like to keep up with what is happening with the city but I feel like only a select handful of people make all the rules, regulations and decisions that we all have to live by. Maybe I just need to accept that I am just a little pea in a giant pod but I guess that I am lucky to have a voice in the public at least. Writing about this every week has really made me want to get out and research and vote when I have a chance.
