Friends! You all are in for a treat this Friday night at The Fat Cat. I just got the Good Word from Chris Ricci. Looks like he is all ago about spinning at The Fat Cat this Friday Night! This is his first time at it. But, he’s all about giving it a spin for you. His Set Starts at 1AM and IM sure he’ll get hooked after he gets the fill of it. Way to go Chris! Me, I hoping to make it out there to show some support. Who knows, I just might break out my Old Chucks and move my body like a Cyclone & perhaps even bust out with some break dancing. Do we get to say Ricci, Ricci, Ricci again.. Shut up! Jam on it… NEWCLEUS

I had the pleasure of speaking to Russell of the local group, DAM this weekend and he was nice enough to give me a pair of tickets to see his band open for The Original KISS Army this Friday night. This should be an interesting show. DAM has a solid following in the area and The Army even dress the part of KISS including all the black leather and face paint.

Modesto is getting a pretty special treat this Friday night! International showgirl sensations, The Nekyia will be live at the Fat Cat for one night only. Beginning at 9:00 pm, the ladies will be dancing, doing amazing acrobatics and even playing with fire!

It has been a while since I have done a feature piece on a local artist and it's about time for me to do just that. Local artist, Jon Valenti has spent the last year refining his skills and is about to release his freshman CD, "Grin and Bury It." It is my hope that people who know Valenti will get to know him a bit better through this interview and that our readers that have yet to hear of him get to know a rising star from right here in the valley.

This has been a crazy week here in our little farm town. I have been to all sorts of events and as the week winds down, I have plans for even more. I am really looking forward to next week with one of the most highly anticipated record release parties of the year coming up on Saturday night at the Fat Cat.

I am pretty sure that I lost a portion of my hearing tonight. I may have also suffered some whiplash. In addition to those injuries, I was almost killed when (like an idiot) I walked into the middle of a mosh pit and a man that had to weigh at least 400 pounds decided that I would make a great ping pong ball.

Nothing can take the sting out of a frantic Monday like a little humor. That is exactly what is on tap for this Monday night at the Fat Cat. A combined birthday bash for Roem Baur (2005 MAMA award winning acoustic musician) and local comedian, Jay Smith will bring together a mixed bag of local talent for an evening of fun mixed with a little insanity.
