I am sorry that I don’t keep in touch as much as I should. Life has been pretty tough for me lately but in the midst of it all I have learned some valuable lessons. I just hate the fact that it has taken me being on the edge of death to see how beautiful that the world can really be.

What a crazy week! I went to a hospital to get some fluid removed from my abdomen and they kept me all week! It was a good thing though. I had developed some sort of bacterial infection and needed special IV antibiotics again.

I went out & got my flu shot today! Here is a friendly reminder to go get yours. Also, don’t for get to take your grandparents & or parents. It highly recommended that Children & Seniors get it every year! Sadly, to many times we hear in the news that the flew has claimed another life of an infant or a senior citizen. Makes some time to get it done ASAP and invite your grandparents to join you and make a lunch date out of it. You will be happy you did, & it just might save their life.

After being given six months to live five years ago, I found out yesterday that I was officially put on the waiting list for a new liver! I am so excited! When the call came my parents and I hugged one another and we all just cried. It was a truly wonderful, purely beautiful moment that I will never forget.

Well, I thought that I was getting a bit healthier. I was wrong. Again. Anyway, I was visiting family last week and about 1:00 a.m. Monday morning something gave way in my esophagus. I'll spare you all the exciting gory details. I was rushed from their home to a local hospital by ambulance, spent about two hours at that hospital and then I was flown to Roseville for further care. I thought that the whole medical helicopter trip would be interesting. I was wrong. Again.

The latest one is scheduled Sept 11, free to public, on Eating Disorders, what they are, what one can do. If you know someone with this issue, good place to get information, as that is what Scott's effort is about, education on these topics.

It is close to five in the morning here and I can't seem to sleep. It is Monday Morning and a Holiday, but my family and I will not be enjoying any camping or boating today. Actually, maybe some of you would consider what my parents and I are doing right now to be camping, but I don't. I would much rather have awakened in the woods somewhere in the midst of the scent of pine or redwood.

West Modesto Certified Farmers Market opened this summer, runs on Thursdays 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at King Kennedy Center and Mellis Park through Sept 25. Sept 4th there will be a free Blues concert with the Farmers Market with Shad Harris and the Groovenators, celebrating Recovery Month.
