the deadline to enter the art and wine festival as an artist, has been extended to July 19. Festival is in August, and you can enter as a group of artists to display, just contact Kadie to find out how. jim

Like $4 a gallon gas, expenses in our local art world got a kick skyward, with this week's The Paint Rag, (which you can get email or in print with $55 membership with Central California Art Association membership) that last years free entry with deposit of $55 to $150 refundable if you stay all twelve hours, with ten percent commission, to $100 entry fee, $250 deposit, and fifteen percent this year. Gallery does need the money, but with $75 in for the Spring Show entry of five paintings, only three in, just one freebie to "black tie optional" opening gala, otherwise $25 to add to entourage, and I don't do tux or black tie, more street person..... this might be an opt out art and wine fest for me. As for buy tickets to gala, where I'd settle for lottery door prize of free entry to art and wine fest, its May 9, opening night and when they award the prizes on Spring Show.

Artists ages 1 to 18, on display in the annual Young Masters Show in Ten categories, (and secret category 11, photography) at Central California Art Association, judging now completed, through end of the month. I think the artists did a great job, and worth seeing.

Mistlin Gallery, 1015 J Street, home of the Central California Art Association, is having a members show, one painting or piece of art per member, on display today through January 30. Art is for sale, and reception for the artists is on Third Thursday Downtown Art Walk, January 17, where many of the artists will be on site, though some of us will be at Clayton's, Trewin, Chartreuse Muse, State Theatre, Deva, Anderson Gallery and Frame Shop, Picasso's, Oopsa Daisy Floral, Photographer's Gallery,

A blue Monday walk. Some good news in emails for State Theatre art walk call for artists, such that I feel shows will be worth attending for the art.

Also, Commonality Show apparently will be on a Sunday at Centre Plaza, though Christine has yet to confirm all that, I've sent off the jpgs and glad to see that show progress to reality, and should be fun.
