Act of Kindness will not be open this month on the Art Walk, but is featuring Collage on Canvas by artists Suzanne Friedman, and Marilyn Zinner, featured on Art Walk last month at Etouffee, which is open for Art Walk, along with Crow Trading, Anderson's Gallery and Frame Shop, Gypsy, Photographers Gallery, DEVA, Mistlin, Chartreuse Muse and other venues on the art walk map

Thursday, Aug. 21st is the 3rd Thursday Modesto Art Walk. We hope you will join us and meet Reverend Erin King who has created the mandala art in our gallery. Erin will explain all about mandalas for you who are interested in this fascinating work. Of course we will have goodies and art walk maps too. It's a fun thing to do, from 5-9pm. Riverbank Art Walk and Chalk drawing contest comes up August 28, but first its specials for Third Thursday Art Walk. Eric Benson and friends play music for Art Walk, at State Theatre Funky Tim, and 25 venues open for art walk in downtown Modesto.

From Sofie, and the dinner and art auction is this evening, but donations accepted. I have a couple in for this, along with a number other modesto area artists, this is a good cause.

Community Housing and Shelter Services, benefits people seeking emergency housing and Act of Kindness owner Sofie Pettygrove is helping organize this event, and I'm one of the artists in with a donated art work for auction, benefits the CHSS program. Karen Cox will be demonstrating printmaking in monoprints at Act of Kindness at 619 14th Street. David Bienkowski will be doing an oil painting demonstration at Anderson's Gallery and Frame Shop for Art Walk. I may be doing some sketching and watercolors over at Clayton's.

Thanks for coming out to Art Walk last night. Need to let Hippy Dave know that Commonality is doing a reschedule on her show, facility thing, will be coming up, but we had problems with printer, usual try and stock the maps last week, people take them........ and so as host of Art Walk at the State, John out from behind the box office handing out, State Theatre recent vintage, straight from Carl at Anderson Gallery, ORANGE as some of you think its dark after 5 pm, the most valuable item people hoarde, collect, store, THE MAPS......

Act of kindness is a treasure on Fourteenth Street, part of the Art Walk and one of the places I post posters at, chat with other artists.

Remember, Third Thursday Art Walk, hsa now 13 galleries or art stops to visit, most open during regular hours unlike our special event at State Theatre, this month featuring TARA TINSLEY as our music guest, and ten artists from our area and film Flash Gordon.
