So I guess I stumbled onto the fountain of youth. Last night when I was DJ’ing a High School Dance, and young gal came up to me and requested “Yeah by Usher" I Laughed out load and said, sister are you for sure, that was so last Tuesday.. She said YEAH! Smiles

Next Saturday, one week after Modesto Art and Wine Festival, the Saturday after the Third Thursday Art Walk, August 21, Modesto Certified Farmer's Market will have ART in library parking lot next to the main Farmers Market regulars, from 7 am to Noon. Crafts, original art to buy, see.

Leon Russell is live on stage at State Theatre tomorrow night, Raul Malo will be at the State Theatre from Concert next week, tickets available from box office noon to 3 p.m. mon through friday, or http://www.theState.org   Joelle Maddyson was scheduled tonite for Art Walk, out with bronchitis, but you can catch our great designers, jewelry, accessories 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Third Thursday Art Walk.

Art Walk at Clayton's tonight and artists are Jim Christiansen and Elizabeth Ingebretsen, Rachel Renae on Fridays, see Saturday for details as its X Fest time, Sunday is Kid Charlemagne, and have a John Griswold note on jazz at Jacob's August 1 and 2. 

It was drizzly, somewhat cold, then clear, good night to walk if brave, and seemed those who were out downtown last night, were there for the Third Thursday Art Walk.  For those of you who didn't make it out, here's a bit of illustrated post AmGen, art walk report.  Hopefully, Shootenpics or others will add to the photos here, so you can see what really happened.  jim

Today was a great day to get out and enjoy the sunshine. I started my day out running a 5K with a Solar Powered Person, “Doug McKinnon�
a Cool guy named Dan Gardner and an Amazing Artist who calls himself John Bruce. It was the 5K Library Run in Oakdale. My time was fast, but not as quick as the Speed Doug, from Solar Powered People, was traveling at. He was flying faster then the speed of sound. Heck, I didn’t even see him pass me! Smiles and Giggles of Friendship Bro.. Great Job Doug! Dan and Mr. John Bruce I was thrilled to see you out there this morning with the rest of us early birds trying to live a healthier way of life through running. Folks, we owe it to ourselves and to those who love us.

I’m just one happy guy

OK so I got my treadmill fixed today. Every other day is my cardio day and last Sunday I had to go to the gym before church to get my 7 miles in. What’s wrong with that.. My treadmill is about the coolest thing I have going on at my house. I just love to run and when my treadmill goes down, it’s a bit depressing for me.

As a Cancer survivor myself, events that help generate awareness and money for Cancer research mean a great deal to me. So many people have been affected by Cancer and I have watched personally as families struggle to hold themselves together in the midst of this terrible disease. If you have a chance, come to Riverbank this weekend and raise money for Breast Cancer Research. There is no better cause that I can think of.
