Don’t get discouraged Modesto Famous Friends! So you keep getting an “Operation Aborted�? all the time you go to check out an event, & posting one is still giving you the same “Operation Aborted�? Hang in there friends! I have reason to believe that The Modesto Bee is on it and is bring in a group of Rocket Scientist to fix this problem. In fact, their great minds are being flown in from Jupiter and this little problem should be fixed ASAP. Thanks for your patients. OMG Nat & I had a great time last Thursday night at The Speakeasy.
In fact, when we got there; the place was about full but everyone was just swaying to the music and getting social with their drink on. OK, here’s the Blow.. Nat & I Cracked that dance floor wide open.. Yes Modesto Famous, We actually danced there, not grinned & nor did we ever do the Bump. LOL. It was all about freestyle dancing with some good Retro Beats.

Brain Freeze

Ok so it was fathers day and my nephew & I have this thing going on. We sit back and suck on Ice Frappe Coffee Drinks to see who can finish theirs first. The whole thing is quiet hilarious to our family. We just about pass out from the head rush of a brain freeze. OMG! This kid can handle his own. He always kicks my butt at the coffee bar in Debs house. Well, coming home from our fathers day celebration, I said to my wife, how does this kid do it? He can handle just about any massive brain freeze known to man. My wife looked at me and said, Sweetie, wasn’t it your nephew that believed you when you said, “a person can swim allot faster in a pool when it’s only half way filled"… LOL so are you saying he may not have much up there to freeze.. Giggles.. Still, this kid can suck down a coffee drink faster then anyone I know.. Thank God it’s sugar free and without dairy in it. Mooooo

Gene Loves Jezebel at the Greek Theater in Berkley

The year was 1987, it was the New Order “Substance Tour,‿ I was a stage hand for Bill Graham Presents and a very young apprentice on way to becoming a Sound Engineer. This was the last time I saw Gene Loves Jezebel. In fact the lead singer sat next to me behind the sound board while New Order was performing. Gene opened up the show that night, then fallowing was Echo & the Bunnymen and of course headlining was New Order. Back in 1987 times moved very fast and it was a party Big Time!
The bus driver for New Order and I became very good friends and we chilled on the New Order bus in between sets. Yes, with New Order.. In fact, The bus driver shared some pictures with me of other bands that he had toured with. The photos that I can remember the most were the ones with Motley Crew. The bus was owned by Motley Crew and New Order was just renting it from them for their tour across the States. The pictures were about the craziest things I have ever seen in my life of concert goers/women doing what ever it took to get on the bus with Motley Crew. Sinfully Crazy. LOL The Substance show was amazing! Truthfully, I only caught the last part of Gene Loves Jezebel on stage because I was on the New Order bus making sure they had what they needed. Ya, it was a party! This Thursday, at The State Theater, should be a wonderful treat for Modesto. I personally am hoping to make it with my wife. Will see,.. Hats off to The State Theater for bringing back the 80’s for a spell to Modesto.

My coolest memory of a Flock of Seagulls, seeing them on MTV back when I was 12 years old. MTV was just in its infancy back then and it was all videos.

Fondest memory of Real Life. Digging that crazy eyeliner they sported on American Bandstand when I was 12 years young. It was their BIG TV débuted in the States.

This be my friend from LA & she will be coming to Modesto soon & I just referred her to The Merch “Alex“ She my friends is amazing & would love to see her perform at Deva’s, new location Clix or even Wonderlust. An indoor venue! Actually I think she’s more like a Dews kind of Artist. She will be coming to Modesto soon & I think she is someone worth looking at.
