Michelle Uber from Modesto Certified Farmer's Market called today, will be doing a new ART at the Farmer's Market Saturday, August 23, 2008. Art displays will be set up in the Library Parking Lot, is for sale, and looking for artists and crafters for the event.
The June Art Walk Maps are out at the various art walk locations, and via Downtown Improvement District, and the maps can be used during the full month, not just the Third Thursday event night, with some coupon specials, addresses and locations of the downtown galleries and businesses supporting the art walk.
Modesto Certified Farmer's Market has ART for SALE along with the usual fruits, vegetables, coffee, pastries and fun the Farmer's Market is known for, as they added the frist ever ART venue, along the library parking lot area, Show your Genius, where entry fees benefitted the library and mjc art dept. I am in booth 8 with Keena Wells, with directions to the United Community Walk and Modesto Blues Festival and our art, Kelly Viss, Commonality also have spots, along with quite a number of other local artists, on display, with business cards, arts, crafts, and similar items for purchase. We'll also have copies of the new art walk maps for Third Thursday with us, to follow up and support local artists, galleries and art walk spots. If you're an artist, have art to show, show and display only, show and sell, contact any venue on the art walk map, and find out if you can show and sell there for Art Walk, or whole month.
Copper Rhino, J Street Antique Emporium, Concetta through the Tango Dance Club or talk to Paul, Bang Bang Studios, and others on the map, including Crow Trading, Modesto Virtual, Good Dog, seeking ART.....
remember, these maps are also good the rest of the month during the day and other business hours, so if you don't make the whole art walk in one night, drop in during the month, or go on back, no excuse, maps new and improved.
so how do you get there, if the modestofamous.com map doesn't work. You go to Woodland, between freeway bridge and Carpenter road, or off Carpenter onto Granite by Clix, and N. Emerald, is between Woodland and Granite, in middle of the block, look for Modesto Lathing, laughing, music, artists... you found it

I set up a new myspace and yahoo 360 profiles, as seems we need the visuals arts and artists to connect a bit better, with venues, galleries, just see what's going on.
