Etouffee has a blues and bike show, Friday, JULY 25

Here's an email from James Rasmussen on Blues And Bikes show Friday at Etouffee Restaurant over across from Pierre's Salon, near McHenry Mansion, and across the street from Big Foot Carpet, and must be friends of Skip's music, as that's where you can by some tickets. Etouffee also recently joined the venues doing the Downtown Modesto Third Thursday Art Walk, where blues has been played regularly recently.

Convention and Visitor bureau interested in bicycle Art

Next months Amgen sponsored International Bike Tour starts near art walk time, and at Gallo Center and McHenry Museum area, and if you go to www.visitmodesto.com or go down and talk to Jennifer at Convention and Visitors bureau, you'll find they would like to get a good send off for the riders with stuff like classic bikes at the museum, perhaps a display of art featuring bicycles. bicycles. I guess The City of Modesto adopted the "Non-Motorized Transportation Master Plan" back in 1996 and some good things have been done with this plan like the 2.5 mile Hetch-Hetchy Trail and the 5 mile trail along Dry Creek, but where are the bike lanes that can get people from point A to point B safely using ALL major surface streets? Is it too late to make room for bikers on ALL of Modesto's roads? What are the options? What are the major financial roadblocks?
