It was nice to win those two recent awards at Mistlin for the Spring Show, got enough money to pay the deposit fee to enter the August 16 Modesto Art and Wine Festival, but if you haven't gotten notice of what it takes to enter as an artist this year, here's the new set of fees, fresh from the email adobe file, and its onerous.

The Manteca Mural society is holding thier annual Fundraiser on Sunday, Febuary 3rd at the Manteca Senior Center at 295 cherry lane. Tickets are 7$ and the proceeds will help finance the organization's goal of creating 30 murals over the next ten years.

Richard Gomez Solo Show and Figuratively Speaking Art Shows at Mistlin Gallery

There will be a great Artist Reception and Party at the Mistlin Gallery on Friday December 7th from 5-9pm for Richard Gomez's Solo Exhibit. All are invited! There will be great food and drink, artist demonstrations and fabulous artwork on display. The membership show coinciding with Richard's show is called Figuratively Speaking and is pretty fabulous as well.

ModestoArtx blog with photos, last night's art walk, tonight at Queen Bean

I mention there will be art with the show at Queen Bean, there is also Art for sale and dispaly at the Popsongromance show at Mustang with comedy and music.

Though hardly known for my photography, I do remember to take my cheap kodak digital camera with me to our State Theatre Art Walk event, since Leslie Jomaine used her phone to record the first show of Keena Wells, Jim Christiansen and Edd Godsey back in July.

Downtown Third Thursday Art Walk, expanding art scene

Two weeks from today, Third Thursday arrives, and another opportunity for evening hours visits to galleries, art displays, maybe another after art walk party.

We got a good review in Modesto View, page twelve, paragraph of fame, for State Theatre entry, and glad to have it. Trio of us were first to be there, two of us from Modesto Blues Festival, hadn't shown in awhile, and recruited Edd, who made debut at a Commonality Art show at Queen Bean. This month we'll be nine artists, possibly a couple more of us at the State, but Chartreuse Muse may be in new spot on Tenth Street where Picasso's has anchored Art Walk on that end, and Wanderlust has entered the mix.
