I'm always fucking amazed, use the profanity for a purpose, when I read these arguments on a public blog site, where Mojo is pretty good loose let it flow editor, where you guys argue over My Music the only music, be it indie, metal, smashmouth, gangsta, hip hop, etc. It ain't, there is jazz, classical, alternative, new age, punk, rock classic, rock lite, christian pap smear, bit of jiggle music, hard core elevator music, gospel classics, etc, even music from other countries, other towns, other states, other universes than just, hate to remind you, this is only small town by comparison elsewhere in CA. Perfect Strangers - a unique and vital force in bluegrass and roots music

Perfect Strangers are thrilling audiences coast to coast with their goose bump harmonies, inventive and emotive picking, high spirits, and exceptional repertoire. These five outstanding musicians - a veteran of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys, a National Flatpicking Champion, a Grammy Nominee, an inspired songwriter, and a powerful bassist - have a sound and spirit that binds them together and sets them apart from typical generic bluegrass. A perceptive reviewer wrote that Perfect Strangers may have created a niche of their own by combining the best elements of traditional bluegrass with contemporary sensibilities. Indeed, Perfect Strangers, comfortably at ease with themselves on stage, are now in their presentation and then in their musical preferences and sensibilities, which they embody with enormous skill and maturity. The effect is contemporary bluegrass as it might be in an alternate universe, the old style brought forward and enlivened instead of the old style warped, discarded or cloned. Their strong, appealing, and readily identifiable style, deeply steeped in classic bluegrass, also reflects the influence of the musical streams that flowed into and formed bluegrass: fiddle tunes, gospel music, blues, swing, the music of the banjo, and mountain music sweet and wild. Perfect Strangers appeal to the audiences for these diverse genres as well as satisfying the discerning, diehard bluegrass fan. Chris Brashear plays fiddle for the band, on the banjo is Bob Black, Jody Stecher plays mandolin, Peter McLaughlin is the band's flatpicking guitarist, and multi-dimensional musician Paul Knight plays the upright bass. All members sing and are songwriters. "Perfect Strangers are something quite special... The true and deep understanding of bluegrass, coupled with a strong creative charge is a very unusual combination these days. They are a bluegrass supergroup!" - Pete Wernick
