It is after 1:00 a.m. and I just got home from an evening downtown. I went out tonight primarily to meet a friend for a movie but I ended up having dinner and checking out a live show at the Fat Cat that my ears are still ringing from as well. I love that I can see a movie at a great theater, have sushi and see a concert all within a couple of blocks. This is really a cool little city that we live in.

Hey Modesto.. Looks like the Modesto Bee will be closing their printing press here in Modesto and your local paper will be coming from Sacramento. My phone is still on fire here, but IM trying to get the latest 411 on this for you as of now! Friends, Please pray that this isn’t so. The Modesto Bee at one time had about 700 employees under their wing. We just can’t afford to lose any more jobs here locally people..

We all have that one friend that can't stop looking in the mirror for more more than a few minutes. Help them now by getting their face the exposure that they want it to have!

Make your friend or yourself a "Famous Person" and be featured on the main page of our site! There is also a very good chance that the person that you submit will be featured in the Scene Magazine in the Modesto Bee on a future Friday! There is no cost for this and it would be a cool way to wish someone a Happy Birthday or other special day.

Life tends to be a shocker at moments. Some good some well you could do without. the thing is its generally those 'could do without' moments we learn the most from. I could do without having been left while I was 3 months pregnant by my ex-husband but oddly enough in the last three years (been apart 3 yrs.) I have learned more about myself then I ever knew! Hell I didn't know I could stand on my own feet.

If you have been holding off buying tickets for X-Fest because you are waiting on a weather report, you probably can go ahead and make that purchase now.

According to Weather.com, the weather for show-time should not exceed 100 degrees and by the time that Simple Plan hits the stage, it should only be slightly above 85 degrees! I really hope that stays on track! That would make for a very nice day.

A public reception for the new Modesto Poet Laureate and the out-going Modesto Poet Laureate will be hosted by the McHenry Museum and the Modesto Culture Commission, Saturday, July 12, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the McHenry Museum, 1402 “I�? Street, Modesto.

Sam Pierstorff, Modesto Poet Laureate for 2004-2008 & Ed Bearden, Modesto Poet Laureate for 2008–2010 will read from their work (cheerleading outfit not including).
