Thanksgiving
My mom has a gorgeous cake on the table, a 23 lb. turkey in a roasting pan and a ton of food in the fridge waiting to get heated up and ravaged by our lucky family. Life is good today. My girls are on their way for the weekend and that to me is something to be truly, truly thankful for. » read more
Not that I’m knocking the Holiday, but why is it that most of us pick only one day out of the year to be Thankful? Why is it that we have to make sure that we are overly stuffed to the gills with food? Why is it that it takes a Holiday to have the whole family sit down for dinner together at the dinner table? Why is it that most of us only remember our faith on this given day? Last time I checked, the God of my faith loves me every day, 24/7 365 days of the year. Why don’t we remember him and love him 24/7 365 days a year? » read more

Ok, so every year at Thanksgiving my wife makes this confection that features Yams and Marshmellows... She calls it Candied Yams.. I call it ewwwww... I mean who came up with this?
I am trying to think of the genesis of this dish... I just cooked some yams, but you know they are missing something... what should I throw in there? Granola Bars? nah... a little Montery Jack?.. Oh I know.. how about some Marshmellows! Oh yeah that sounds divine! » read more

Well, another Holiday is upon us Charlie Brown. LOL I haven’t even finished my Halloween candy!
Smiles
My friends, this Thanksgiving Holiday will be very much filled with a Thankful heart for me & my family. Our Mother has been very ill lately & my sister & I Pops too had been praying that moms illness wasn’t something terminal. She has had problems with her digestive system & after countless visits to the Doctors, they decided to do an MRI. All of us in the family had been holding our breath waiting for the results. Thanks be to God, they came back normal. Praise God! Well almost normal, but it is something that they can treat. This Thanksgiving, I will give thanks to the lord for my Mama, Popa & family.. Doggies too. For he is all so ever good to us & answered our prayers with our mother’s MRI. I don’t know what lies ahead folks & I try not to worry about it. Untimely It’s best if I just give it to God & trust him & thank him for all of his blessings. Big hugs going out to my sister Debra, She’s A wonderful sister & a wonderful Daughter to our mother. Despite how busy she is, she accompanies my father to all of my mothers Doctor appointments & visits Mom as often as she can. Thanks you for that sister, you be the oldest & the head of the 3. I love you! » read more
