CHSS Art auction, wine fundraiser dinner tonite at Seasons

From Sofie, and the dinner and art auction is this evening, but donations accepted. I have a couple in for this, along with a number other modesto area artists, this is a good cause.

Might as well write political football, as Patriots ahead when I last checked the game, and noted walking, and doing Commonality Art Show today, will catch up on furtherance and history of Graceada Park Performance Art Project items, as owe it to one of co-founders, Eric Donnelly, who visited project dream come true, free blues festival in Graceada Park last year, both of us in some sort of recovery, Eric's number one contribution to art project, the local GPPAP dumpster dive union, or which he was founding member, and shop steward.

Walk to the park tonight, December 21, longest night of the year. Winter temps, but clear, better than last year, when appropriately it rained upon the volunteers, new do gooders, awareness heightened by climate, perhaps God.

Homeless memorial, Longest Night, Graceada Park, Dec 21

Ruben Imperial designed the poster this year. I did it last year for the first observance here in Stanislaus County, finally joining a longstanding nation wide observance. Bring a candle. Last year around 100 of us in the rainy night, gathered at Graceada Park's covered picnic areas.

Community Housing and Shelter Services, fundraiser Sept 15, State Theatre

Note, the realtors do this music review each year for the Community Housing and Shelter Services nonprofit organization, that provides emergency shelter, i.e., a big service in keeping one from being homeless. This is Produced on the music review by Fred Miller, our myspace friend, VoodooGirl, aka Angi is on the committee, very dedicated to this cause, and this helps a lot of people in our area, including a friend of mine recently.

I road though drycreek last night at midnight.. it was frigging SCARY.

Seriously... I wanted to go see some friends near Morris and Mchenry so the fastest way was to ride through the park to cut over to Coffee (and avoide the bike gauntlet around Lincoln Center).

Arnold missed the mark, budget on the fritz

http://modbee.com has the front page story for Jan 22, Governor has balanced the budget on the homeless services, including mental health, by taking away what was just gained not understanding purpose of Prop 63.

Homeless article in Bee, the Stanislaus County Housing Collaborative

Modesto Bee, on front page, features a Day in the Life in homeless quarters in Turlock today. Good notice on loss of health benefits as a big reason some folks in my age bracket hit the streets, and illustrative of some of the issues taken up by an operating body of agencies, non profits, government, churches, and neighborhood associations in Modesto and Stanislaus County called the Housing Collaborative, approximately 148 member groups or so involved, charged with, and currently in its second year development of a 10 year plan to reduce or eliminate homelessness in Stanislaus County.
