Pride Fest deal for local artists

Here's one from Jeff, forwarded on to artists around town, to me, the muse art group, etc, they get a lot of folks for this one.

Dear Local Artists

Display and sell your artwork for just $35 at Stanislaus Pride Day on September 27th 2008! Don't miss this opportunity, with over 3,000 people expected at this year's event this is a chance to get people interested in your work. For just $35 you will recieve a 10X10 space to promote and sell your art without commission charges. Share a booth with a friend and split the cost! To apply, go to www.spcpride.org and click on "exhibitors". Either apply online or download the application and mail in your check. Set-up begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 27th 2009 in Graceda Park. The festival runs from 11. a.m.-7 p.m. Hope to see you there!

Walking in the Park with NAMI Stanislaus at Modesto Blues Festival

Email from my friend Joyce with NAMI Stanislaus on their portion of the Modesto Blues FEstival United Community Walk, which will have other art, Recovery groups, friends, walkers of all sorts, remember Relay for Life is the following weekend (ask efren) and come out and join us. Walk to the park tonight, December 21, longest night of the year. Winter temps, but clear, better than last year, when appropriately it rained upon the volunteers, new do gooders, awareness heightened by climate, perhaps God.

Homeless memorial, Longest Night, Graceada Park, Dec 21

Ruben Imperial designed the poster this year. I did it last year for the first observance here in Stanislaus County, finally joining a longstanding nation wide observance. Bring a candle. Last year around 100 of us in the rainy night, gathered at Graceada Park's covered picnic areas.

art and a blue monday and a blues walk

A blue Monday walk. Some good news in emails for State Theatre art walk call for artists, such that I feel shows will be worth attending for the art.

Also, Commonality Show apparently will be on a Sunday at Centre Plaza, though Christine has yet to confirm all that, I've sent off the jpgs and glad to see that show progress to reality, and should be fun.

Braving the rain, food, and coming up in the park

Thank you to Efren and Deb for the queen bean show Food4Music, and Jeff Bonilla on sound, and the musicians, Aaron Durr borrowing bum's gloves to play, Megan Slankard a guitar, Not an Airplane, in sandals as usual, Peech, and Joelle Maddyson, and Hippy Dave and crowd, sometimes standing room only under the tent due to rain and few seats not damp, and and the parka clad Efren J, collecting cans of food, was worth the three cans I brought for the show to stick it out, and walked home after the break in rain, missing Dave Hanley over at tresetti's. Got good report on crowd at Riverbank from my friend I had hoped to join over there, in the drier venue.
