If you haven't visited the McHenry Museum in downtown Modesto, you've missed something, as it is home to many events, and meetings like the City of Modesto Cultural Commission I attended yesterday as a drop in invited member of the public, to even know about this event, though I'm a volunteer to set up art display for the AmGen Bicycle Race this coming month. FYI, Cultural Commission meetings are 4 pm, the fourth Monday of the month.

Virginia Corridor Lion's Club project, children's park, ltr to modbee

This is from Joseph Lima's letter to the editor today in the Modesto Bee. For the beginning paragraph and full text, see Opinion section http://www.modbee.com online.

I was posting posters, had stopped in on my friends at Johnson Rug Company, quite involved in Lion's Club projects, and seeing this letter, thought I'd post this aspsect of it, as I myself am buying a personal clay brick with $50 donation.

I just read a great article about an Australian inventor that has created a windmill that extracts water from the air. A very doable technology that the federal government has be handing money out hand over fist for development for some thirsty troops in Iraq.

Painter in the Park, my area, show for past month

The scene is in a park, a redwood middle, hedgerows trimmed, bus stop corner, and an oaktree nearby, a trash can, and four benches.

Prior shows in this park near me, reminded by angryf's blog on the clean graffiti were typically black, uninspired tagger works, such I called in an undersung artist, after noting the landscape improvements since Grover prunings, and by email to city parks and neighborhoods, the graffiti abatement painter.

Parking apparently a bargain

Modesto Bee notes another of those great San Francisco Consultants the City of Modesto uses to see what we're doing wrong or right here in Modesto. The latest, Walker Parking Consultants of SF, where we know parking lots are expensive, notes the City isn't making enough money on parking, which for me, living near downtown, is no big deal as I typically walk, but the report notes parking in Modesto a bargain, about 1 million less expensive than it could be.
