Vintage Bicycles, - McHenry Museum special show, AmGen Bike Race

If you haven't visited the McHenry Museum in downtown Modesto, you've missed something, as it is home to many events, and meetings like the City of Modesto Cultural Commission I attended yesterday as a drop in invited member of the public, to even know about this event, though I'm a volunteer to set up art display for the AmGen Bicycle Race this coming month.  FYI, Cultural Commission meetings are 4 pm, the fourth Monday of the month.

Fourth Monday of the Month, December not meeting, but will in January, 4 p.m. at McHenry Museum, the Citizens advisory committee to Modesto City Council, or Modesto Cultural Commission meets, and I was invited by chair Brian Haddix at the Art Walk event at State Theatre, among others extended invitations, and when at the November meeting, the only public audience member in attendance, and these are open to the public.

I like reading Jeff Jardine's column, thought his musings on latest City of Modesto legal loss over employment issues, i.e. gender equal pay, or as jeff noted, not equal....... worth reading to get idea of City workforce issues with management.

Renewable energy and water.. MID, City of Modesto.. where ya at?

I just read a great article about an Australian inventor that has created a windmill that extracts water from the air. A very doable technology that the federal government has be handing money out hand over fist for development for some thirsty troops in Iraq.

Program looking for facility and parking,

I have a draft proposal for Stanislaus Chapter of Mental Health Consumers, and National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Stanislaus, provisionally approved by a local granting agency for three days open, drop in center, mental health client and family member oriented, sited in Modesto.

Painter in the Park, my area, show for past month

The scene is in a park, a redwood middle, hedgerows trimmed, bus stop corner, and an oaktree nearby, a trash can, and four benches.

Prior shows in this park near me, reminded by angryf's blog on the clean graffiti were typically black, uninspired tagger works, such I called in an undersung artist, after noting the landscape improvements since Grover prunings, and by email to city parks and neighborhoods, the graffiti abatement painter.

Parking apparently a bargain

Modesto Bee notes another of those great San Francisco Consultants the City of Modesto uses to see what we're doing wrong or right here in Modesto. The latest, Walker Parking Consultants of SF, where we know parking lots are expensive, notes the City isn't making enough money on parking, which for me, living near downtown, is no big deal as I typically walk, but the report notes parking in Modesto a bargain, about 1 million less expensive than it could be.
