It’s Sunday Morning and I’m getting caught up on the 411 in our Modesto Bee. As I browse through the Saturdays Modesto Bee, I noticed a wonderful piece on our new church that all at Saint Stanislaus have been working so hard to make a reality.

Kudos going out to the City of Escalon for promoting a healthy lifestyle with The Shadow Chase Running Club. The Park Fete is a great family festival and Saturday morning it started out with a healthy Shadow Chase race... The run proved to be a great time and many of the families headed over to the festival afterwards to enjoy Escalon’s own Park Fete..

It’s a little after 10AM and my Air conditioner just kicked on! The heat is coming & by Wednesday it should be one Hot Mother Hubbard. Please be mindful of the heat; Please make sure your drinking plenty of water & give those seniors in your life a call. Let them know that the heat is on and they should take precautions now for this weeks scorcher. Also, Please! Please make sure our pets have plenty of fresh water and have a place to chill in a shaded area. Please..

I guess Ed Bearden the new poet laureate be ok, but I just put him in the letter to the editor, as he's the new appointee to be Poet Laureate of Modesto and because Slam on Rye, and outgoing poet laureate Sam Pierstorff has some "juice" with the Bee, finally got a cartoon on their editorial page in the Print edition. See a printed copy of the Bee, better than the online version. Anyway, the "retired" er, fir/. uh, Ed got the next term, after four years great service from Sam. So, my letter, version of gold watch, which is same drawing in gilded frame I was going to drop by his office at MJC, only to still have it to give him July 12.

Oh, take his Poetry workshop, not because he needs the money after losing his job as Poet Laureate, as no pay, FREE, no get the dinero for that, like he can at MJC, see his flyer below as evidently he's needing the money, or without freebie required to do poetry free job, he's ....

The 4th has passed and it’s Sunday night. My wife is getting our lunches ready for tomorrow. She goes back to work & I go back to the gym. Anywho, Summer is half way done here friends and I’m all about reminding everyone, get out and volunteer in your community. Get out and visit a friend in the hospital or a senior citizen at your local retirement hospital. Have a friend who is locked up, give them a visit. Rehabilitation starts with friends who care. Make it a point this week friends to do something for your community. Collectively, we can make our Modesto even better..

The Parade! The Hottest & Coolest thing that we did on the 4th of July
OK so my forth was amazing! The Parade was so much fun! Nat & I where just beside ourselves.
I took some wonderful behind the scene shots here as well as some cool ones of the families lined up along the route! please click on the link, no password necessary! Me, I ran around the whole staging area rallying the parade folks and getting them to giggle for the Red White & Blue! I just love a Parade! Everyone is so happy & excited to be part of such a positive event! Me, I just eat up happy! Also, look for the wonderful piece on our Parade in today’s paper! If you don’t get it, IM thinking Dude? Why not? Anywho, here is the link to days front page story! Good works Bee! Enjoy the pics, they will only be up for a while. Sunday night looks like a great night to hunker down with the family and enjoy one of my all time favorite movies by Jim Carrey. “When Nature Calls" It comes on the flix segment on Cartoon Network. Check you local listing for times and channels. OMG just watching the previews gets me more then giggle.. What an idea! Family, giggles, quality time & relaxing at home on a Sunday night. Hey! Here’s a cool idea; grab some old fashion jiffy pop popcorn. I just love to see the silver of fun rise the stove. Anywho, make it a date with the family and kids, you’ll be glad you did.
