Judy Tenuta, star of Broadway, film, and television, will perform one night only at the historic State Theatre in downtown Modesto, on Friday, May 4th at 8:00 PM.
Tenuta, full of ribald humor, is known by audiences for such things as being carried onstage by scantily-clad, sculpted men, and for her on-stage accordion skits. She calls herself a “lesbetarian� and has even got her own religion, “Judyism�. Joan Rivers calls her “the funniest person in the world�, and she was the first stand-up comedienne ever to be named “Best Female Comedian� at the American Comedy Awards. I just got off the phone with Steve Nelson, volunteer coordinator for Stanislaus Pride (People Respecting Individuality Diversity and Equality) and he was very excited to tell me about the grand opening event that the organization is hosting this weekend. The event is designed to celebrate the organization securing a physical home after nearly two years of offering it's services to the community.
The Stanislaus County Pride Center held their first Stanislaus Pride Friday at the Fat Cat in Modesto.
