In the mood to do a little foot stompin'?

Have you been outside today? It is gorgeous out! It could get hot today in the late afternoon, but the temperature is not expected to break 100 degrees according to www.weatherchannel.com. I will be in Sacramento today visitng a good friend that is about to ship off to Iraq for his third of duty in the Army and it will be great to see him. If I was in Modesto I would probably cruise out to Newman tonight and check out a live performance that is set to take place tonight.

The world-famous dance and music group, the Fishtank Ensemble will be at Newman's West Side Theatre and the show should be a great deal of fun. The group is known for what they call, "cross-pollinated gypsy music." If you decide to make the short trip back in time out to Newman for the show wear some comfortable shoes and be prepared to do some foot stompin' of your own.

I love making trips to little towns like Newman. In a world that seems to grow so fast small communities like Newman seem to grow slower and stay relaxed and quiet longer. You could get to Newman a few hours early, do some antique shopping, sit down for a great dinner and then catch the show.

Maybe surprise someone that you love or use the day to pile up the whole family in the car and just go. How long has it been since everyone in your household left their cell phones and laptops at home and got together just to spend some good old-fashioned quality time together? What have your kids been up to lately? How long has it been since you just sat and talked to them for a while?

You never know what will happen in your life. Enjoy everyday like it could be your very last. Sometimes I feel like it was a blessing when I was told that I could die of my liver disease before I turned 30. Today I am 33 and I love my life more than ever. Sure, it is hard to live ill sometimes but I know in my heart that I am not even close to wanting to give up yet. Life is simply to good to just give up on.
