The Heat is ON

It’s a little after 10AM and my Air conditioner just kicked on! The heat is coming & by Wednesday it should be one Hot Mother Hubbard. Please be mindful of the heat; Please make sure your drinking plenty of water & give those seniors in your life a call. Let them know that the heat is on and they should take precautions now for this weeks scorcher. Also, Please! Please make sure our pets have plenty of fresh water and have a place to chill in a shaded area. Please..
A special cool thought going out to the folks that have to work outside. Lets be extra kind to our city crews on the streets.

Power Emergency

What say we avoid one!

So all of our Air conditioners are all is full swing. Right now would be a great time to set your AC at 80 degrees or higher. Here’s an idea! Put on the minimal clothing to stay cool. Also, go around your house right now and turn off any unnecessary lights, TV’s, computers, ETC.. Close the blinds & think thoughts of Skiing down the mountain of our cool California’s slopes in your chonies. Smiles..
Also, the best time to do your laundry is after 7PM and only run the dishwasher at night. For more energy saving tips, check out

Here’s an idea for a dinner meal, BBQ anything and look for cool dishes like salads, fruits & perhaps, Crab Tostadas.. They are cool & very easy to make.

Don’t forget our pets friends..

For Our Children

For Heavens Sake

I’m thinking she had to have been someone’s grandmother, mother, aunt friend. Sad news reported in the bee today. Looks the heats has claimed its first victim. See story in in today’s Modesto Bee. Friends, for Havens Sake.. Let’s not allow another person to be taken by our hot summer temperatures. Do you know or live next to an elderly person? If so, make it a point to check on them when the mercury is scheduled to reach over 95 degrees.. It’s up to us to take care of each other and our pets..

Heat information for Stanislaus County Some cities to open cool zones
Stanislaus County, CA – The National Weather Service is projecting a heat wave to last
over the next four to five days in the central valley.

The Stanislaus County Office of Emergency Services (OES) is working closely with local
emergency service providers, health providers, heat emergency team members and
representatives of local cities to assure readiness.

Local cities are notifying OES if they are intending to open a cool zone for their
residents. A cool zone is intended to allow an individual to get short-term relief from the
heat to allow the body temperature to cool, which is important during hot weather.

Here is the location of cool zones:

The Neighborhood Center at Marshall Park
420 Chicago
Modesto
Hours: 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Senior Center
211 Bodem
Modesto
Hours: 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

It is anticipated more cool zones might be added by cities over the next few days.

Health officials are reminding people to observe health precautions during this heat wave
