American Graffiti is upon us yet again

Modesto is certainly the place that you will want to be this weekend if you are feeling a bit nostalgic. Tomorrow evening at 7:00 is where you will able to get your first look at the estimated 800 cars that will be in town to celebrate American Graffiti. The 10th annual Kiwanis-sponsored parade will be a great time for the whole family to watch chrome shine and listen to the roar of some of the most beautiful cars in the country. It amazes me that people tow their cars all over the country for events like this. That is serious dedication!

From what I have been able to find online, the place to find the most complete list of Graffiti events is www.visitmodesto.com/calendar. There will be events at the Fruit Yard on Yosemite, both MJC campuses, John Thurman Field and at various businesses around Modesto and Riverbank. It will not be hard to keep yourself busy all weekend long if you are a car fan.

What do you think of Graffiti weekend? Will you be attending any of the events that are scheduled?

Have fun this weekend and take a cruise down McHenry with your car windows rolled down so everyone on the road can hear just how much you love Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper!

"Oh baby that's what I like!"

Graffiti Summer Events has a myspace

Hello Mojo, Graffiti Summer Events committee is chaired by Modesto Convention and Visitors Bureau, so of course has all the calendar of the entire Month of June's events for Graffiti Summer. That's the host of the www.visitmodesto.com web site.

Graffit Summer Events also has a myspace, where tunes, some pics are noted, and a friends list, and the icon is found on our web profile on myspace as we're on the Graffiti Summer schedule for next weekend, along with an event at the fruit yard, and Sierra Railroad in Oakdale as Modesto Blues Festival, members of the Graffiti Summer Events committee, with State Theatre, Downtown Improvement District, North Modesto Kiwanis Club, Galaxy Theatre in Riverbank, Modesto Chevy Car Club, Modesto Hot rodders, and Modesto Bee, and other friends I may have forgotten to mention as I did doing the blues fest promo on TV yesterday. Our profile is www.myspace.com/modesto_blues_fest where a schedule of events posted in our blog.

Some blues at Kiwanis Graffiti Summer Festival

JB and I were out at North Modesto Kiwanis' Great American Graffiti Festival at MJC. Cars were great and everywhere, beauties to behold, quite a crowd out, and caught part of set of Fat Man Blues band with Kyle Barker at the sound board. Penny White there tomorrow, great event to stop in on the Graffiti Summer Events Schedule.
