Walking in the Park with NAMI Stanislaus at Modesto Blues Festival

Email from my friend Joyce with NAMI Stanislaus on their portion of the Modesto Blues FEstival United Community Walk, which will have other art, Recovery groups, friends, walkers of all sorts, remember Relay for Life is the following weekend (ask efren) and come out and join us. Have acoustic music lunch in the Bowl with Joe Barretta, then at 1 p.m, the Main Event, as the Modesto Blues Festival 2008 opens on stage, June 14, for FREE, FREE, FREE event.

Come out and walk with NAMI Stanislaus on Flag Day, and stay for the free Modesto Blues Festival.

NAMI Stanislaus invites you to the United Community Walk, starting 10 a.m. June 14, at Mancini Bowl, in Graceada Park as the opening event for the Modesto Blues Festival. National Alliance on Mental Illness, Stanislaus affiliate is the host non-profit, and is using the event as a fundraiser toward NAMI mental health education and general programs, with suggested donations of $10 with walking teams, and as an awareness event supporting Hope and Recovery in our community. We invite you to join us as we walk up to Rotary Junction on the Virginia Corridor Walking Park, and then return to Graceada Park for a great day of FREE music and art at the Modesto Blues Festival.

Donations can be made to NAMI Stanislaus. For information call Bob Madearos at 551-8459, Lynn Padlo at 576-0809, or email lpadlo234@comcast.net. Lynn is our NAMI Stanislaus President and Bob Madearos is our new Treasurer.

Modesto Blues Festival music starts at 1 p.m., and lineup includes Rhythm Deluxe, D.J. Slate and Rocket 88, Rene Solis & Laura Chavez and Guitar Extravaganza, the Reno Explosion of Blue Haven, and the Whiskey Haulers Band, and MoFo Party Band. An after party will be held at Minnie's Restaurant at 107 McHenry. Festival also includes Art hosted by the Peer to Peer Recovery Art Project, classic cars, food, vendors, and other Recovery groups and community nonprofit partners.

vendor spots still open, Modesto Blues Festival

Vendor spots still open for the festival until June 7, $175 to reserve, use the JB Presents info in joyce's note. And if you can't make a donation for the walk, NAMI Stanislaus and MBF invites you to just come out and walk with us in the new Virginia Corridor Park, which opens on the National Trails event June 7.
