Joe Barretta at United Community Walk & Modesto Blues Fest, noon, June 14

Come on out for 10 am start of the United Community Walk and NAMI Stanislaus fundraiser portion of the blues festival, have a music treat for lunch, with Joe Barretta at Modesto Blues Festival in the Mancini Bowl area. Main Stage starts at 1 pm.

 


There will be some music prior to main event, to welcome you to the 2008 Modesto Blues Festival and end the United Community Walk on a blues fest note with acoustic set by Joe Barretta.

Joe Barrretta recently played and opened for the Chris Cain band at Clayton's, and will be the State Theatre Art Walk Event Music guest June 19 for the Downtown Third Thursday Art Walk is a local singer, songwriter, and blues, jazz, 2007 MAMA award nominee with the Joe Barretta Band. . Just a note, that we support and love the State Theatre, where Mercenary Graphics and Keena Wells of the JB Presents Modesto Blues Festival and special events art and set up staff, crew, got in to start up our production and participation in the Downtown Modesto Third Thursday Art Walk, moved on to Act of Kindness and Claytons, did Fat Tuesday at Tresetti's, been over to our friends at Queen Bean where last year's United Community Walk started, on way to A and W, where we've had the following music friends help us with our deal on the art walk, and the Peer to Peer Recovery Art Project, hosts of the Modesto Blues Festival art venue, with El Concilio this year, more artists friends, but at our MODESTOARTX and Advocates dates with Mental Health, Not an Airplane, Rachel Renae last October, Johny and Kelly for May 2008, for the State Rachel Renae twice, Tara Tinsley, Jon Valenti, Solo Bass Andres Cervantes, John Ady (of Joe Barretta Band and Rhythmn Deluxe and Blue monday jams), Randy Marshall, Jimbo, Dave Hanley and Kenny, Joelle Maddyson, Joe Barretta and Rachel Renae on a repeat of dates, Hippy Dave in for a missing Dave Hanley as Rachel Renae gave us the news, and Efren with some help on blogs, emails, and he's doing Relay for Life next week, with friends, same as last year when on our same day, so here's the map, thanks friends, and come out....... Cherub and Paisley were doing art walk last month at good dog, need some art with them now, while we get ready for art and wine fest coming up, support that too.......

Anyway, Joe Barretta, be our music guest at State Theatre, June 14, Elizabeth Ingebretson, one of the Blue Monday Artists at Clayton's and doing workshop June 14 at the Chartreuse Muse, be our featured artist, so special working artist day for her at Blues Fest, so get a preview, join us, pick up the new June art walk specials, got some coupons in them from DEVA, Tresetti's, Claytons, cool photography from the Photographers Gallery, ad from Convention and Visitors Bureaus as Jennifer Mullen returns to Graffiti Summer event, the Modesto Blues Festival and United Community Walk, again in the ART VENUE.....

Come out and walk with NAMI Stanislaus on Flag Day, and stay for the free Modesto Blues Festival.

NAMI Stanislaus invites you to the United Community Walk, starting 10 a.m. June 14, at Mancini Bowl, in Graceada Park as the opening event for the Modesto Blues Festival.  National Alliance on Mental Illness, Stanislaus affiliate is the host non-profit, and is using the event as a fundraiser toward NAMI mental health education and general programs, with suggested donations of $10 with walking teams, and as an awareness event supporting Hope and Recovery in our community.  We invite you to join us as we walk up to Rotary Junction on the Virginia Corridor Walking Park, and then return to Graceada Park for a great day of FREE music and art at the Modesto Blues Festival.

Modesto Blues Festival music starts at 1 p.m., and lineup includes Rhythm Deluxe, D.J. Slate and Rocket 88, Rene Solis & Laura Chavez and Guitar Extravaganza, the Reno Explosion of Blue Haven, and the Whiskey Haulers Band, and MoFo Party Band.  An after party will be held at Minnie's Restaurant at 107 McHenry.  Festival also includes Art hosted by the Peer to Peer Recovery Art Project, classic cars, food, vendors, and other Recovery groups and community nonprofit partners.
