update on costs to enter as an artist to art and wine fest Aug 16

It was nice to win those two recent awards at Mistlin for the Spring Show, got enough money to pay the deposit fee to enter the August 16 Modesto Art and Wine Festival, but if you haven't gotten notice of what it takes to enter as an artist this year, here's the new set of fees, fresh from the email adobe file, and its onerous.

First, you need to submit 5 jpgs, this is going to be juried in, get that in by July 1. Indicate type of art you plan to show. $250 deposit, refundable if you stay all 12 hours of the festival, 10 am to 10 pm, which means, add those four hours to load the car, set up, take down, unload, crash. YOu don't get it back otherwise, and don't think they're going to hold the checks like last year.

Decide if you want one wire triangle or two, or 10 x 10 you provide tent canopy vendor booth, by, booth or single triangle option, mere $100 nonrefundable fee, and any sales, you pay fifteen percent commission to Mistlin CCAA this year. If you go for two triangles, you pay $200 nonrefundable. and provide your own S hooks, plus sign that liability waiver, and reserve your loading and unloading time......

So, the deluxe entry is $450 in, with $250 back if you don't die of heat stroke. So, takes sales that yield $230 profit to break even on this, not counting your costs of framing, matting, glass, actual art form, and you're requested to do art on site, as well as sign up to do demos, etc.

Personally, I think we should all get some free wine tickets at this price, but suppose we have to pay for that extra.......

I suspect I will enter, but please come by art walk at State Theatre and Clayton's, purchase some art at the free to drop by event, so I can make some money to do this one. We can combine for group spots and share costs, but we have three of those triangles up for Schizophrenia Awareness Day today, I got have a lot of art up to pay those entry fee bills,
