Bird Poop

The city is seeking $250,000.00 in funding from The Federal Transit Administration to repair bus stops and bird-proof the downtown transit center on 9th Street because I guess birds "poop on passengers" as they wait for their buses. Seems like a lot of money to ward off the pigeons and their active anuses, but I just thought this was funny. Read the whole article here...

Thanks to Greg for always keeping us up to date on the most important issues in town! $250,000 does seem like a great deal of money considering that you can get a great BB gun for less than $100.00 at your local Big 5.

Don't get me wrong please...Modesto Famous does not condone violence against any sort of animal. We love animals but personally, I am just not big on poop.

that's a lot of money

Man I used to get a buck for every pigeon I got in the hay barns with my pellet riffle as a kid (pigeon poop can cause diseases that can hurt the cows)... seems like a lot of money for birds to me.

isn't there a lower cost solution?

Who is in charge of researching this?

I would love someone out there to figure out what on earth $250,000 buys in regard to solving this problem. Do they dip all the problem pigeons in gold? Seriously now, how do they make this happen? This is very interesting.
