Honestly, the piece wouldn’t have come together with out all the info from Jim Christianson and other local Artist. Thank you. Me, I’m just the messenger here and grateful to be part of such a great newsletter in Riverbank. The Rio Arts.. http://www.rioarts.org/Newsletter/2008_MAY.pdf

Ultimately my goals was to get more folks interest in Arts in Riverbank as well as to recognize the great things we have going on in our Downtown Art Walk every Thursday in Modesto. With that being said, I’m hoping to plant the seed of idea to bring back the Art Walk in Riverbank. By October, the downtown streets and sidewalk should be completed. Artist & Friends! It should make for a very nice Art Walk in the city of action.
Friends, as the city gets closer to completing this wonderful project over there, I will get with my friend Virginia the vice mayor and Joey from the Rio Arts to see how to get the ball rolling on this thought. Surely, The Art Walk in Riverbank would be a wonderful treat to bring back with our friends to the North of Modesto. The Rio Arts is moving forward at the Speed of Gods will and I will be busting out some more good news from there in a few days. Keep moving friends and lets get out there and enjoy our wonderful community.

Riverbank's first art walk event last year... good start

posted last August on modestofamous, and in our blog and pic gallery spots on http://www.myspace.com/modestoartx Keena Wells and I, and John Black of JB Presents went out at worked the Street as Queen Bean Riverbank under construction for first Art Walk out there.

We ran into other friends, including some who showed with us on Art Walk at State Theatre, Clayton's, Queen Bean and other spots, including Chartreuse Muse from hooking up at that event, like Rare Mask ceramicist David Morgan, moved to Hawaii Jason Van Housen, David Carr of Ceres who did Modesto Art & Wine Fest next door to me and been up in Tresetti's and Chartreuse Muse with his abstractions, and got to meet some of the folks with Rio Arts out there. Even the drawing of JB I did is now part of his BHRS Black and White team combined poster with one I did of mental health advocate's office Tim White, came out of the trip to Riverbank, where around the corner Rachel Renae was playing in support of youth group at her church.

Riverbank isn't the only good player in art besides what is going on here in Modesto as far as the Art Scene in the County, but is leading the way with Rio Arts, and some get noted in that newsletter. Oakdale has galleries, and just had the Western Women of Art Show with the Rodeo. Patterson Rep reported its fundraiser Art & Wine Gala was biggest yet, more artists from the area, more Patterson artists involved, three venues filled with art, about $2,200 in sales, and a sell out of tickets for the event.

We're seeing the Art side of the Arts in our area grow as the music scene has, more artists, more art, more arts events, and more Art supporters like Efren J and Motown Mojo out supporting the artists, and we thank you and Chris Murphy and others helping this along. like the civic leaders in Riverbank, downtown Modesto Venues and Downtown Improvement District, Modesto Bee, Modesto View, Modestofamous, and the artists.

Senior Show opens Friday for the Stanislaus State Senior Art Students, catch it if down in Turlock. Seems art blossoming all over the county. Got a lot of places for you to shop for art in Stanislaus County Efren.

check out the photographers gallery website or Mistlins and Chartreuse Muse to keep up on art events in area.
