Is Modesto still racist?

I grew up in Modesto and because I'm not white, I endured racism from every angle until I was able to move out at age 18. I went back a few years ago and saw the cops arrest 3 black youths for no reason. My mother and father still have to deal with racism including getting windows shot out by small caliber gunfire. I remember non white students were segregated from the whites and given suspensions/expulsions for minor offenses but school administrators looked the other way EVERY TIME a white student did the same thing. I used to get so pissed off about it and still am quite a bit. Does anyone else see this in Modesto?

What time period did you

What time period did you live here? I ask, only because I grew up in Modesto, and never witnessed any type of segregation. As far as I know, (maybe just personal opinion) I never thought of Modesto as being racist. Sorry you and your family endured this. Hopefully one day, you can give Modesto another chance.

What has he ever done to you

What has he or she ever done to you

Hmm, I would like to think not, but I have found out more and more lately that some folks out there still insight hate toward people that they have never even met. Unfortunately, their still is a great deal of envy, discrimination as well as just being mean to those who have worked so hard to have what little they have. Jealousy generally leads to hate and hate ties in well with discrimination. Discrimination these days apparently doesn’t discriminate against color, gender or social statues. Hmm; Next time you decide to snub someone, it might be best to ask yourself; do I even know this person that I’m snubbing or am I just hating because my group of friends are telling me too. What has this person ever done to me? Spread Love Modesto! Doing so, will help us move forward to discrimination of all kinds.
Friends, we can learn a lot from a child and our pets.

A Long Time Ago

A long time ago Modesto was one of the more tolerant communities to live in. With a lot of people moving into this area in the past two or three decades or so they also brought their cultural ideas and differences with them, and soon our Modesto was tainted with some very hateful people. I am so sorry you endured such a thing, because I wish Modesto would go back to the former way of welcoming eveyone, and treating every person with dignity and respect.
