Rally for Immigrants' Rights

Dear concerned community members,



For the past 2 years, we have taken to the streets in Modesto and voiced our concerns over the challenges faced by our community members and others nationwide.  We have stood united with those undocumented for their fair and humane treatment.  We have also taken a firm stand in demanding that the family unit be preserved.  Once again, we invite you to show your support in the fight for immigrants' rights.  Please join us on Thursday, May 1 st , as we rally for:

· Legalization and a path to earned citizenship for the undocumented.

· Reunification of families divided by broken immigration laws.

· A moratorium on the immigration raids separating families.

The rally is from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the El Paraiso's parking lot at 1550 Crows Landing Road in Modesto . Bring your families, your signs and your banners.

Notice to churches: We are asking that church leaders notify their congregation about this event. The church is one of the last sanctuaries for immigrants in this county. It is important that your constituents know that you are fighting for them.

Notice to television, radio and print media: We are asking that you help us get the word out and let the people know where we will be. We would also appreciate it if you sent out a reporter to cover the day's events.

Notice to community groups and activists: We are asking that those of you in support of these goals notify us to be added to a list of supporters. We need your help in distributing flyers and putting up posters around the area. You can download flyers and posters from our Myspace page.
