These animals don’t take any bull; they were ‘born to buck.’ This will be a show of thrilling bull riding, cowboys and clowns. The fearless bull riders will compete to stay on the bull for at least 8 seconds. There are two judges that score the rider and the bull. When the rider stays on the bull for 8 seconds he/she receives a score from both judges, added together then divided by two for the total. The bull rider that scores the highest, up to 100 points, wins the competition.
The rider sits directly on the bull and holds on tight as the bull bucks into action trying to buck the rider off. There is no saddle and the bull rider must ride holding with one hand. The rider is disqualified if he/she touches his/her body or the bull during the 8 seconds.
The Humpz and Hornz Rodeo Company is based in Le Grand, California. Organizers Wes and Stacey Ibrahimi have been producing bull riding events for county fairs for the past 12 years.
