thanks for coming out, we did sell some art

Well, musicians seemed in short supply last night, if you were out on art walk, noticed reschedule or cancels, there is a virus around, and so if you stopped into see Dave Hanley at the State last night, found me talking to Rachel Renae and Hippie Dave, I was trying to get Rachel to sing without amp, go get her guitar, or start down the list of who's available on short notice. In case bonilla wafer noted a call from Rachel, that was us...... we called Mike with DAM, a number of others to no avail...

but, sold art...... more than one artist blessed by buyers at the State Theatre last night, so appreciate fans bringing wallets, and making the day for a night when I lost keys to my car for awhile, evidently forgot my guitar, .... and.... appreciate the crowd, the great comments on the show last night, and Do Dirty, our poet friend showed on time, performed three, and appreciated, so invite poets out to visit Third Thursday any time.

If you have an art event coming up in May or June, even July, let me know, as my publisher Chris Murphy out, its deadline time for Modesto View again, so send me a note at mercenary_graphics@yahoo.com so I can include you in Visual Arts thing I write each month, and also if you have a show of your own of note elsewhere, want to feature the local artists who out there winning award, made a major show,

And, next month with State Theatre Art Walk, solo bass..... so looking for more artists, different artists, different art to go with our bass notes theme show. Jack McBride next months featured photographer, returnees to be announced, as new artists, but had to get in that new notice to the Scene to remember we do art once a month.

Big Jim...

I was downtown last night and I was amazed at the number of people walking around for the art walk. It sure has grown! I didn't make it into the State because I met Rachel Renae about a block away and spent the evening listening to music and exploring art with her.

Last night was also the night (every Thursday) that the Copper Rhino hosted live music with B93.1 and we happened to catch the group, Colour. It was the first time that I had seen them and we were blown away! Their lead vocalist is amazing!

You deserve a huge thanks Jim. A huge thanks from the whole community. You do so much and that is appreciated like you would not believe!

Keep up the good work buddy!

Many others involved in Art Walk, I'm just at two spots

thanks for comment, but my main event is with the State Theatre, without their staff, I'd be out walking art walk with you, and Mitch was nice enough to work with us at Clayton's as part of their Thursdays specials events.

A lot of people, that's the owners of the Galleries and businesses that started the Art Walk, begins with Chartreuse Muse, Anderson Frame Shop, Norman Ham at Trewin Framery, Picasso's, and the others who have joined in, the CCAA and Mistlin Gallery, and the many artists on display that make the event fun. I'd not been doing much in art in quite a while, element of depression where I quit painting or drawing for nearly six years, happy to try music, and working with JB Presents events, so this has brought me back to something I love, and so thank Sue Richardson and State Theatre, and being back at times in shows at Mistlin, Clayton's, Acts of Kindness, for even being back involved in art on more than clean out the old portfolio basis.

So, though I've done art most of my life, its nice to be back to it, and this monthly event, when I wasn't drawing, was the thing for me to go walk to downtown. I don't get to see as much as others do, have on display during Third Thursday, don't get around enough to the different galleries on current schedule as i would like to, especially as also writing from Chris and modesto view, and have found, there is a lot in the visual arts going on around the county, and I'm having to play catch up as a reporter who'd dropped off the map nearly a decade.

So, I'm but one in what is turning up a lot of people participating in this event, and glad more people coming downtown, noting its pretty safe all ages, free event, and we do like the sales, but a lot of fun just to get the art out to be seen, talk to others, here the comments on the display, the work, meet people, meet other artists.

thank you for coming out.
