Johnny Valdez with Eric Benson at Claytons with ARtists for Art Walk, other art walk news

Special notes on music and art coming Thursday this week, to our 800 Scenic Event next week.

I've had to spend the day with JB and Tim White as we went up on business, including art at the California Institute of Mental Health, Integrated services conferences, and art show, where mention of Modesto Blues Festival, the Downtown Third Thursday Art Walk, etc, some of the projects many of our friends with Recovery and mental wellness, been out and about, benefitting from the experience in our community.

So, on the way home, talking about Johnny and Kelly playing our April 24, Art and Music event at Mental Health, asked about Eric Benson music emails, as JB on the list,  so he forwarded this special Eric Benson Presents Notice.

Before that, note also Dave Hanley will be at State Theatre Art Walk, with poetry guest Do Dirty following at 8 pm, as its National Poetry Month. Do Dirty, regular at Slam on Rye, this month's slam winner.

At Mistlin is a film preview of Howard Training Center artists, the inner eye.

Subject: Music in the Motown from Thursday night on.

Hello: Tomorrow night, THURSDAY night the Modesto downtown welcomes the third Thursday Art Walk with Art Galleries, the State Theatre, Clayton's participating in an open studio experience with lots of art, appetizers, and music. Clayton's has Eric Benson on piano and Johnny Valdez on Jazz guitar playing some mood music from 6:00 to 9:00 PM with some special guests dropping by.
FRIDAY night Clayton's features singer songwriter Rachel Renae singing and playing guitar from 8:00 to 11:00 PM. She has a great alto voice with originals and standards.
SATURDAY night Jazzoni with John King on Jazz guitar and Dan Rogers on bass play with vocalist Mary Boutte. The supper club Saturday night goes from 8:00 to 11:00 with an acoustic volume for dinners until late night.
Blue Monday brings back one of my favorite local guitarists and vocalists, Johnny Valdez to host the Blue Monday Jam. Featured are John Adey on acoustic and electric bass, Dave Hawks on drums, and Marty Martinez on Saxophone. They play the most straight ahead Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, and play dance music after the jam session.
Please Save the date: the Chris Cain Band returns to Clayton's Sunday May 18th for a 6:00 show. The band features Dave Mathews on keyboards, (of Etta James Roots Band), Dwayne Pate, (of Robin Ford Band), and Tyler Eng on drums. Chris is one of the best Rhythm & Blues singer and guitar player touring and recording today. Ticket price 15 dollars with food and full bar available.
Advanced tickets available at Clayton's Restaurant and Skip's Music. Hope to see you there.
                                                                        all the best, Eric Benson.
