Quality Local Bands

As a local performer myself I think it is valuable to let my peers know how well we are doing. I have compiled a small list of local bands that I beleive are at the next level. When I say "next level" I mean their performance and songwriting skills have what it takes to go on tour to support national acts.
Here is my small list of local bands/performers that I think has what it takes to go further is their particular genres. I you have more please reply with your thoughts. I would love to check them out as well.

Fat Skeleton- Great musicianship and probably one of the best guitar players in the valley with Chandler Pratt.

Not 4 Nothin- A diverse band with a great stage show. Music is not typical of Modesto bands which is a good thing! Hopefully more bands like N4N are awaiting in the wings.

Deriva- A merced based band that is so easy to listen too with their alternative sounds. These guys have radio ready songs and a professional ear.

EARL- Great live show!! Comedy meets music in an exciting way.

More of the best

I agree with everyone on the list that you have composed and I would like to add just a few more names. In regard to song writing ability, both Nick Shattell of Not an Airplane and Jon Valenti should be mentioned. Both artists also have excellent performance skills. Valenti in particular is a very unique artist. He won't be just a local act too much longer.

I would also say that Rademacher of Fresno and El Olio Wolof of Merced have the talent to take off and really exceed expectations. Both of these bands, EARL and Not 4 Nothin' all face a common roadblock in my opinion. It is hard to place them within a particular genre. Because of this they may prove hard to market.

I would love to see any of our local talent move ahead in the game. We are very lucky to have such a diverse music scene.

I have been to the "bean" and seen the open mic. Very good talent there too.
