mojo put walking in the park in scene blog sampling today

This morning I read the Scene, go to the Modestofamous spot, where Marijke and Motown mojo make their comments of the week, 99 words or less from what mojo tells me, and this gray spot to the right, my blog on meeting we did last night....... now you'd think that be too little, too late, but we have more coming up, so excuse to blog results on first of the modesto blues festival and united community walk meetings, this one held at the Alano Club in Ceres.

one - we had people show up, and quite a number who couldn't make a Thursday meeting, so next one likely be a different night, as even for walk sponsor NAMI STanislaus, not a good night as they have the current Family to Family class scheduled. Quite a few signed up for the MBF and United Community Walk volunteer email list, if you want to, contact John Black at johnb@jbpresents.com

two - JB had the NAMI Stanislaus fundraising letter, and team sheets, and got some teams for their end of the walk going. Friends in Ceres at the club, stopped by, have their own item, as we had the Vintage Blues Band Alano Club fundraiser posters with us, as well as the April 24 Art and Music festival April 24 posters. So we got some teams started. If your organization wants to do something similar, you can model it on the nami format, or talk to JB, see what can be done as an information table, come in your tee shirts, he's in to finish the fees to the City this morning.

three - Joyce brought a sample of flags with her from the Ace Hardware closeout going out of business sale. JB already looked up supplier for the little flags, and friend Art mentioned he has his Danish Flag ( I used to have one) to bring to the walk, its Flag Day. Bring your own, or risk us giving them out to you.

four - Farmer's Market is having its first Art Show with the Market in the Library parking lot, we and commonality getting booths for that as its the same morning as the United Community Walk and Blues Festival, so we have an alternate route for walking in the park, from library to Mancini Bowl at noon after done shopping, have some blues for afternoon treat.

five - main route will be up Virginia Corridor, and JB is starting his new walking club, get in shape to make it all the way to Rotary Junction up at Roseburg Square, and return to Graceada Park.

six - called John this morning to let him know, Ruben couldn't make the meeting, but picked the blog out for Scene, with the contact info, so thank modestofamous.com for that. We'll post.

seven - John looking up Muddy Waters, walking in the park, to get the song lyrics quoted right for the new poster, coming out soon.

Thanks for the 411

Ya, mistakes happen. Even with big city little newspapers. Smiles.. Heck, I make mistakes on a regular basis. It’s called being human..
Still, its always best to check here for the latest on what’s happening.
Recently I have seen more people come to check out Modesto Famous and advertisers dropping their dollars here. COOL! Something’s working right at Modesto Famous.
Although I would like to see other venues and promoters post their 411 here. I know people are hitting the site because I get loads of emails from folks that read my blogs. Modesto, isn’t it time to rethink about how you promote your Events. Modesto Famous is a valuable source to have in our community! Regardless of how you feel about the site or who owns it. You have to admit, Modesto Famous is wonderful tool to have to let people know what’s going on in your part of the world. Bloggers, Promoters and Venues welcomed. Spiritual events, community issues and family issues would always be a plus here. Charitable events/ runs would be appreciated and movie reviews from the folks in our community would be great here as well.
Enjoy Modesto and have a wonderful weekend

Keep up the great work Jim!

promotion, answering blogs on famous

just a note, I answered one of our calls for artists recently, actually two, patterson rep as cousin mentioned they also have a mural project related to the 2009 Patterson Centennial, and the theatre company on their planning group with the mural..... and hooked up friends for the art and wine gala, and

more of you should check out the Riverdance Farms Pick and Gather festival May 30, to June 1, as I met with the organizers at Queen Bean this morning, and quite a lot of opportunity to work with them for seems a fun event, so I am. This is from their posting here, and thanks for those who have emailed or called JB based on the blog on united community walk to get invited.

Now, Efren is on our united community walk email list, as he's also on the Cancer Society relay for life committee, expressed an interest in our cause due to our seemingly competitive, but mutually supportive of the music, causes on same day, two free events last year, that really helped play up what the groups we're working with are into, not just our role as promotion or volunteer recruiters.

So, an effective tool, like the myspace bulletins we do, email lists from the friends we make, or that we contact, reading the event notices, bulletins, blogs, forum topics here on modestofamous.com

I'd love to see from art walk viewer revues of the experience of what we're showing at art walk, all venues, or the one I organize at the STate Theatre, from a different than mine perspective as a review.

And of the other art walk shows, as the artists and I displaying at State Theatre, don't usually get to see what everyone else is doing, and we're fans of others art also, would love to hear from someone who gets to those shows, or ours, what you think, and comments on what we post, helps that along.

so comment, add a review, no wrong way to do it, but maybe not doing it at all, so write in, jim

Get to know Jim C

Get to know Jim, He's a cool Cat!
This just in from him!

My Friend Jim just had a meeting with friends from the Riverdance Farm pick and gather event in Livingston, happens May 31 to June 1, and found out they are not only looking for artists, crafters and vendors, but musicians, especially acoustic. So, am sending on to you friends on the email from modesto view, and art walk players, to let you know the gig exists.
Their info is posted on the event at modestofamous.com
if interested, and have dates open, negotiate as you will with
anna riedinger at annariedinger@gmail.com 831-594-5638
website is http://www.localchoicescv.com

JB is also looking for players for the Art and Music event at 800 Scenic Modesto, April 24, Joelle and Tara had date conflicts, still have opening, for the volunteer spot on that, supporting the Peer to Peer Recovery art project. if into that, call 209-985-0467 or send John and email at johnb@jbpresents.com

We have the stage booked for modesto blues festival, but last nights united community walk meeting, may have opportunity for some acoustic players.
Jim

On a personal note to Jim.. Thanks so much for the giggle via email. It’s the best one I have had all week. May 31 to June 1.. Smiles
Reposted it on my myspace for you my friend..

thanks, we'll be at QB monday, on to Blue Monday after that

Happened to run into friend David Shroeder at Queen Bean, gallery guru at the Photographer's Gallery, best food, fun crowd every art walk, and he and friend took some of the new Art and Music Festival posters for JB to post for us, and hope the community drop in on behavioral health for that one, April 24, 2008. Have to attend to the day jobs, and I'm mentor one tomorrow for the peer to peer class, over at the new bhrs operation at 500 N. Ninth, with nami stanislaus, sponsor hosts again for united community walk with the blues festival

New friends from Livingston and I to meet again soon, and do have some of the event descriptions and art and vendor guidelines. Admission costs for Riverdance, $10 adults, $5 children, Slow Food dinner is $20 likely real good, $8 for the sunday breakfast, and

Camping $10 so that's a plus for a two day event.

Went over to the Act of Kindness gift boutique, gallery and art walk stop, only to find Sofie over at her cause, Community Housing and Shelter Services, so enlisted their info booth skills for the BHRS Advocates Art and Music event,

Act of Kindness over across the street from the VIP Visually Impaired Persons support center, having an art and crafters sale for the center, May 3, same day as the Rhythm Deluxe Blues concert for Big Valley Grace church out north Modesto, and the Multiple Sclerosis walk, so the generosity, and nonprofit community, always needing volunteers, yet evident and out there working hard here in Modesto, with fun events, awareness raising,

so forgive Patterson Apricot Fiesta and the Graffiti Summer Events Schedule for also being this same weekend in Livingston, for showing the Central Valley a pretty diverse and active place to live. Sort of like monday night meetings at QB, then to Clayton's for blue monday, stop off at Speakeasy for music friends there, or watch the State Theatre marquee for coming events, or by Fat Cat for new posters, and the many other places downtown for fun, of all sorts.
