Thrifty Ice Cream
So I’m Chilling at home suffering from a little cold and I’m feeling very pooky. My wife’s the best! Tonight she got home from work with my favorite Ice Cream. It’s Thrifty/ Rite Aid and it’s Pistachio Nut. Yummy!
I don’t usually do Ice Cream, not unless I’m very sick with a cold and tomorrow may not become a reality. So, since I’m so sick here and it might be my last night on earth I‘m indulging. Smiles.. I’m going out in style baby. “Pistachio Nut Thrifty Ice Cream" Ahhhh! OK, so I’m just being silly here. But it makes for a great excuse to indulge once in awhile with my childhood favorite Ice Cream. When I was a kid, my parents would round us up every Friday after school and we would go grocery shopping. We would hit Savemart on Yosemite, then go next door for a Thrifty Ice Cream. Back then, Fridays Rocked! Our parents where so good to us, every Friday we got to pick out our own Cereal for the week. “Boo Beery was my Favorite" and then we would walk over to Pioneer Chicken for dinner and then hit Thrifty for Ice Cream. Back then, a scoop of Thrifty Ice Cream was 10 cents. Then later it sky rocketed to 15 cents. WOW!
When my sister Debra was 10 years old, you could get a single for 5 cents. Ya, that was back before we had cars, trains and planes. Giggles. My sister Debra, she was a happy terror! LOL She would always finish hers first then try to steal ours for herself. Our middle sister, Veronica, would nurse her Ice Cream for days. I remember getting home afterwards and Veronica would still be licking on her Black Berry single scoop. Hey what can I say, she was the middle child. LOL Still we all had loads of fun and I still have great memories playing with my two olders sister. Although, I didn’t care too much for being put in the clothes dryer by my Deb & Vero. They got so busted! On another note, I still stock up on Boo Berry Monster Cereal when I can find it.

Thank you Rite Aid for not discontinuing Thrifty Ice Cream after the acquisition. It's one of the few childhood memories that's still accessible to me.
I was 8 years young here and looking for my Thrifty Ice Cream

I love Modesto
