special events coordinator, JB Presents, same who bring you Modesto Blues Festival, so following from the blues fest blog www.myspace.com/modesto_blues_fest [5]
You may have noticed we gave the blues frog on guitar a break for now, as we're recruiting artists for the www.jbpresents.com [6] special event, the Back Country Horsemen of California, Rendezvous 2008 or www.myspace.com/bchcrendezvous2008 [7] myspace profile, which we're doing over Easter.
My friends Penny Meyer and Jack Morris found me doing drawing of Andres Cervantes Solo Bass over at now closed Wanderlust Coffee, invited me to the Tuesday night Chartreuse Muse life drawing sessions, so I invited over to Blue Monday, as we often draw to blues at the Muse. Thus, the table near bar, but in range of the band loaded up with several of us doing what I do, sketches of the players, crowd at Clayton's. Solo Bass Night is Feb 28, and tonight we expect to meet up, as JB taking me down to see Chris Cain and Joe Barretta bands, support blues and latest addition to the Third Thursday Downtown Art Walk where we got art for sale, usually some music from Eric Benson Presents, artists, friends of Mercenary Graphics and JB Presents.
Here's artist Penny Meyer, did the art oil painting demo last week from photo at Clayton's of Carl Robinson, MAMA award nominee in blues, jazz this year, lead guitar player with Aubrey Johnson's DARC group on Blue Monday.
penny did the whole painting as you see it here in the four hours of the art walk. Now Carl and I have this deal, $5 for any of my sketches of him, hard to get them glasses of his in the right spot, the dark shades, so bargain for my ink on napkin or small pad drawings, likely a little more for one of Penny's.
anyway, here's what the Modesto Blues Festival crew will be doing over Easter Weekend, at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds.
