Is Modesto getting a CB2 store?

Here I go causing trouble again. Here I go spreading rumors and speculation! I received an email this morning from a company whose name that I did not recognize. Without even thinking about spyware or adware or whatever (I have a Mac) I opened it up and was immediately intrigued.

According to the email, Modesto is getting a CB2 store. Maybe you know what that is, but I had no idea. So I turned to Google and discovered that CB2 stores are simply smaller, hipper Crate and Barrel stores that are being put into urban areas to attract a younger audience. More investigating led me to believe that if we do get a CB2 store that it will be in the new part of the mall that is currently being built.

I myself am a big fan of Crate and Barrel, Pier one Imports, World Market, Ikea and even that cool international theme based area of Target that comes up once a year. Could Modesto be becoming fun and chic?

According to this email, CB2 will feature items such as graffiti dinnerware, modular sofas, eco-woods, hot hi-gloss whites and digital wall art. This could be a really cool place to shop and maybe a way to save a few bucks on an extra trip or two to the city during the year.

Crate and Barrel corporate offices in Illinois are closed today for the holiday, but I will call them tomorrow to try and gather some more information. I will let you know what I know.

Have a relaxing day if you are off work and school today. For me, it's another day with Snow White (my fearsome guard Chihuahua,) vitamin water, chicken noodle soup and the iTunes video rental store. Oh what a thrilling life I lead! Hey it's 3:00! Nap time! Sweet!
