To Lose the Weight in 08

To Lose the Weight in 08

Its not always easy to lose those unwanted pounds. But it is possible through the right amount of nutrition and exercise. In December of 2005 I weighed in 300lbs After long hours at the gym and studying the benefits of certain foods, I came up with a simple equation that helped me. I’m hoping that these simple tips might help you in reaching your goal for a healthier lifestyle and a slimmer you.

There is a rumor that’s going around out there that’s being instilled in us all. It’s that you can’t lose the weight on your own and that you need magic supplement pills, fancy exercise equipment and possibly a personal trainer along with your one year commitment to joining a gym. NOT True! I lost over 75lbs in 7 months and I did it through nutrition and exercise.
Since 2006 I have studied the benefits of Nutrition and what exercises work best for different problem areas on my body. In all my studies I kept coming across the same information. Nutrition, Nutrition, Nutrition! Yes folks it is possible to lose those unwanted pounds through eating the right combination of foods and minimal exercise. How minimal? How about 20 to 30 minuets, 3 to 4 times a week of cardio and regular calisthenics.
Cardio and Calisthenics 30 Minutes
Depending on your physical condition you can start out with walking for 20 minutes, then work your way up to jogging or running. Too cold to go outside, try 100 jumping jacks and reach for a goal of 500 . It’s ok to take a 20 second break at every 50, but the goal is to reach 500 without stopping. Always count in sets of 50 to 100 then take a 20 second break. Then, continue!
Calisthenics
Always Consult with your Physician before starting any kind of exercise program or routine!
No need to join a gym, use your god given ability to get fit using your own weight and resistance. A great example of this is Pilate’s. Mat Pilates! Not using a reformer or a ball but just a mat on the floor with a variety of exercises. Don’t know of any, the information is out there and free online. A few that worked for me are leg lifts, squats, double leg stretch. the plank and a variety of stretching using my own body weight and resistance.
Toning!
No weights needed! Start with pushups 4 to 6 and work your way up to 8 to 12 repetitions of 2 sets then work your way up to 4.
Nutrition
Nutrition is very important in reaching your personal goals of losing those extra pounds. I am a strong believer that 70% of losing the fat is in eating right and 30% is exercise. This is great news if your limited on time getting to a gym or have limited mobility. Exercise can be done at home with simple calisthenics mentioned above. If your starting out and looking to join a gym, these are some things you might want to consider before signing on the dotted line. A thirty minute workout can be done at home in the same amount of time it would take you to drive to a gym, find a parking spot and check in. Use this time instead spent at home working out with your family. I’m not saying a gym isn’t a good idea, I’m just saying that there are other choices that may suite you better. If you are starting out to get into a healthier lifestyle, it might be best to start it at home with the family. Later progress if your looking to challenge your physical ability with a more of a variety of exercise equipment with a gym is a wonderful option.
Eating Good and Right
Please folks, I am not a nutritionist and the tips I share with you is what worked for me.
Fast Food, Don’t do it! Most of it is unhealthy and filled with more fat then you would ever want to put in your body. I personally stayed away from as much FAT in my diet as well as sugar. There are healthy alternatives folks. The internet is full of some great suggestions. Surf around and don’t be afraid to try new things. Learn to substitute some of your indulgences for similar healthy alternatives. Make your own lunch while your making the family dinner. This serves as a great time saver as well as knowing exactly what you will be eating for the fallowing day along with saving money. Think healthy and stay away from soda all together. A better alternative is water! Those who know me, know that I carry around my jug on a daily basis and consume an average of 8 eight ounces of water a day. Water, Non Fat Milk & Coffee is what I drink.
Folks, this is just a few simple suggestions that I’m pushing here. Every January I see the gym packed with so many New Year resolutions from people looking to lose weight. Usually by February the gym is back to the same faces that where there in December because so many got discouraged and gave up. Friends, You can do it! I know you can, if I can so can you. I am no different from you, I am a hard working regular old Joe that set a goal and didn’t give up. Try not to get discouraged, remember; you didn’t gain your weight overnight and you wont lose it overnight. Have faith in yourself and make this new lifestyle change for LIFE! You owe it to yourself and those who love you. They say a photo is worth a thousand words. See my bio page here and what worked for me.

Skipping Rope with Baby

Skipping rope with Baby

To moms who don’t have very much time to exercise because of baby. Try jumping rope! Baby gets so amused at watching mom skipping rope and mom gets a great workout.
Though I’m thinking that the baby is probably wondering what the heck got into mom these days. Smiles..

Remember friends, cardio 3 to 4 times a week and most important;
Be aware of what you eat and drink!

Drink 2 cans of beer = 300 calories. A six pack 900 calories.. WOW
drink 3 to 12 cans a beer, call for a cab Please..
