Mistlin Gallery, 1015 J Street, home of the Central California Art Association, is having a members show, one painting or piece of art per member, on display today through January 30. Art is for sale, and reception for the artists is on Third Thursday Downtown Art Walk, January 17, where many of the artists will be on site, though some of us will be at Clayton's, Trewin, Chartreuse Muse, State Theatre, Deva, Anderson Gallery and Frame Shop, Picasso's, Oopsa Daisy Floral, Photographer's Gallery,

Clayton's is added to the art walk this month, poster soon out, Brian Swander paintings already on the walls, are for sale, and for this month, Eric Benson will be playing piano, art by Jim Christiansen drawings and watercolors for sale, Keena Wells, acrylics and be on site, Big Earl Matthews and his wire sculptures for this first time out. We had five of us on the Blue Monday table drawing band members last night, prior to Chartruese Muse figure drawing tonight.

Chartreuse Muse typically has art demonstrations on art walk, last month Ken in his tuxedo showing pottery wheel technique, and likely painting this month.

We've talked to Barking Dog, and their photo show is still up, scheduled to change art next month, and may be on the art walk next week with us.

State Theatre, we have Joelle Maddyson set up as the music guest this month, with members of the Degenerate Art Club, artists from Stan State, Turlock and Modesto, likely with some Jim Christiansen and Keena Wells art in the theatre area, as we're going to leave the lights on, so you can see the theatre, its classic art deco restoration, check out where you'd like to sit at Film Society or concert events. I'm making a deal on Queen Bean coffee for this one. I've seen the first show of Degenerate Art Club, and was worth seeing, new artists you've not likely seen before.

The ccaa has a website, with the art walk map on it, and if you were out last month, likely noticed the Mistlin gallery was closed for Art Walk, not this month......reception instead.
