Virginia Corridor Lion's Club project, children's park, ltr to modbee

This is from Joseph Lima's letter to the editor today in the Modesto Bee. For the beginning paragraph and full text, see Opinion section http://www.modbee.com online.

I was posting posters, had stopped in on my friends at Johnson Rug Company, quite involved in Lion's Club projects, and seeing this letter, thought I'd post this aspsect of it, as I myself am buying a personal clay brick with $50 donation.

From Joe Lima's letter to Bee.

The Modesto Lions Club is partnering with the city of Modesto and the community to build a children's park on the Virginia Corridor at the corner of Virginia and Morris avenues. We are looking for sponsorships for the following: A water tower for a mere $15,000; a play structure for only $13,000; climbing rocks for a measly $10,000; a shade structure for a meager $8,000; and a monument plaque for a bargain of $2,750. If the above are still over your budget, you can have your name printed at the site for a contribution of $1,000 or more or buy personalized clay bricks for $50 each.

For those who are community-minded, please contact me at josephlima@aol.com or at 604-9002 for a community project donation that is within your budget.
