As my main thing is art, and have been doing art walk event at State theatre, have to come up with artists, ideas in presentation, get the poster out if we have the info right, perhaps to some post a bit much, to see if the art gets up, gets shown, gets seen, once in awhile a sale.
State Show, I added music guest, we're interactive in the lobby, but Sue has had films, we have all that theatre, so that's now in, and this month we added the free cookies and cider, still have concessions open.
After Art Walk Party, go over pretty well, of course we have usual shows in town, but Fat Cat has shown Will, Off the Air Shows, there is the recent Handborn show at Deva and Concetta with Fashion Parade and a crowd, I've done little shows with Keena Wells at Queen Bean, others have, we've done with Chartreuse Muse friends the Symphony Gala, places to show, or work as artists, or just hang out, bit of wine or beer, cookies, do art while showing.
Greg suggested maybe musicians make the venues, do the tip jar thing, fine with me, but I'm only one stop on the walk, and I didn't originate it, but been walking it since it started. I liked the Downtown Sampler idea, Lamplighter Tour, art walk, as actually way to circulate among friends, and if you do it, see its not quite so much a hassle downtown as sometimes perceived, especially prior to 10 pm.
For third month, I was artist at two venues on art walk, this time Act of Kindness, and some new people over to shop, good thing, other times, was in the Mistlin show while doing State. Act of Kindness on that South side of art walk, CCAA the main show usually, but I always go by Bead shop, see what else going on, note the art at Restaurants, but that's me. I'm one of the displaying artists again, after ten years out of the house. What do you other artists, downtown attendees, audience folks, think might help besides maps out on time.
