Art Walk, Chartreuse Muse artists do Street Painting, recent Symphony event at Gallo

From my ModestoArtx Blog. I got into this gig from attending Rachel Renae opener at Wanderlust, drawing my good friend of California Bass Alliance, doing solo bass, Andy Cervantes as usual when he's playing, I'm there with pen, and friends from Chartreuse Muse were there, and recruited me to join them, as someone who draws fast caricatures. So, my thanks to Megan for contacting me on their recommendation to do the show, as it was fun, got a place to show some of my watercolors for sale, make some new friens with Symphony Association, promote art with OTHER ARTISTS in area, as I've enjoyed attending their life drawing group at Chartreuse Muse as well, and they've been on the Third Thursday Art Walk, often one of my destinations before I helped do the State Theatre event to join them.

Just a reminder, Chartreuse Muse is open now on Tenth Street, across from Cheroots, and really looks great. Wanderlust joined the art walk last month, and Simplicita will join in this month, and also check what's new at Act of Kindness, CCAA the Exposure show I believe the opening reception is tonight, go by Anderson Gallery, and the other galleries listed on next Thursdays' Art Walk.

Here is the art blog. Wish I had the photos of the art produced by my other friends these two nights. Also, note that Handborn is looking for entries for the show in November at Deva and Concetta, to attend, or enter, as Art and Crafts in Modesto resurgent with these efforts.

Art and Music in Modesto seem to be doing more events together, and here are some drawings I did that I didn't give away, while doing caricatures and drawings as part of the American in Paris after party gala for Modesto Symphony Association, with friends Jack and Penny I met at Wanderlust and Clayton's music gigs, who are a big part of the Chartreuse Muse life drawing group, such I got to be part of this too. Another painter from that group I can't name recall, and David Bienkowsky also part of this, and after seeing us Friday night, artist Shantelle Julian, doing wine serving, added some paintings for Saturday Night. Our paintings displayed were up for sale.

American in Paris is the Modesto Symphony Association big opening event at Gallo Center, complete with two nights of After Symphony event, with food, wine, coffee, desserts, big band, dancing (wonder if they had to get an MPD dancing permit?) and Artists doing portraits, paintings, and me doing some drawings.

My first time to the Gallo Center as part of an event, and I've yet to go inside, but we were set up on the sidewalk, near that grassy area, be a great spot to just do street scenes and paint or draw period, during the afternoon.  Our hours for this were 10 pm to midnight, a bit chilly Friday Night.

My job, do caricatures of patrons of the Gala, and also my usual view of crowd scenes.  The focal point at times those great space heaters.

To me, this one my best scene of the Gala crowd going through the buffet, and wish I had a photo of David's great painting of the event, crowd, center and all that he did Friday night.

This drawing led this group to come pose for first of requested caricatures of the night.

Set up the band shot around 9:30 pm Friday night, over on the corner of 11th and I Street, behind the fence.  Band was great, as you would expect at a Modesto Symphony Association event.  Ernie Buccio and his orchestra I believe.

David had two portraits done Friday night, this one by me, to practice doing a drawing somebody might recognize as an actual person, and an oil by one of the other Chartreuse Muse artists as he painted the great crowd event scene of Gallo Center.  He's also DB of DB Studio, recently on the Downtown Third Thursday Art Walk.

As Penny and Jack said, if they'd let us do this every night, would be fun.
