Oh the drama!!!!

Well, it sure has been an interesting past couple of weeks! I have been interviewed, offered speaking gigs and some guy wants to create "Viva Mojo!" T-shirts! What is the world coming to?

It is all sort of funny to me I guess. Seriously, I am just an oddball little chubby guy with a couple of computers, an open mind and a big ass mouth. At least that is what my mom said! (Just kidding Mom.)

What you need to know is that the bottom line here has not changed for me at all. This site is not about me. This site is about you. This site is about Kid Guitar, EARL, The Evening News, Not an Airplane, The entire Miller family, Shelly Bort, Arron "Durrlicious" Durr, Jeff Bonilla, Greg Edwards, Cobalt, The Chris', the cool guy that owns The Modesto Sports Bar, Efren the roaming DJ/Fitness buff/world traveler and everyone else that makes this town what it is.

This site is about teaching my little girls that the little guy can still have a big voice even in the midst of a giant corporate shadow.

My wife (The lovely Mrs. Mojo) is going to kill me (or take away my favorite activity for a while) for posting this. She says that I should really stop writing here based on the fact that I am pretty much being put through the ringer and treated like hell by a billion dollar company that expects me to do charity work for them. That may be true, but someone needs to lead this thing that knows a little bit more about the city that we live in then the fact that Scott Peterson and Gary Condit can sell more than just a few newspapers.

My psychic senses tell me that someday soon all my access will be taken away and Mojo will just be silenced. But I want to go down fighting and speaking so here I am. Just know that if I ever just totally dissapear from here it is because Eric Johnston pulled my plug. If my column header is taken down, it was probably the result of some corporate meeting about synergy and teamwork over at the Bee.

Have fun out there and enjoy the game today! Go Bears! And Mom, seeing you yesterday meant the world to me. I wish that I was healthier and stronger and could have spent more time with you. I love you and you should know that everyday you are in my heart and my thoughts no matter what the hell happens on this rollercoaster that I call my life.

Smile today Modesto! I think that I will get out right now and enjoy the morning sun and a mocha from the store with the green and white logo while I walk the block with Tinkerbell, my loving Teacup Chihuahua/Partner in crime.

One more thing: My favorite activity is making cookies! You people are sick!

Hey Mojo, Ill take ya

Hey Mojo, Ill take ya. The Bee would be making a serious mistake in not giving you a job with this site. With so many folks hooked on your columns, you are a huge asset to this site & to where ever you might end up. Not sure what it would take to create a site such as this, but anything’s is possible in my world. Mojo, if they don’t scoop you up ill take ya. You are a huge commodity in Modesto & IM sure that were ever you go, people will fallow. Ill give you a buzz when I get back from Cabo

modestoview?////I mean B movies?

K Fed fan club?/// this is drama?

Mojo, I thought you'd leave a post like this at myspace

maybe we should go charitably write at modestoview, visit chris murphy and them.....

i thought you might be posting something less B grade, like

A list stuff,
State Theater, Prospect Theater Project, westside theatre, Newman is not just a character on Seinfeld.

Ignor Eric, lets get on to usual posting, complete with language, certain amount of irreverent spamism as its not on menu at Deva or Queen Bean,
and get back to the dramatic photos, ........

anyway, the thread email came my way, and supper bowl not out yet

whatever you end up doing

whatever you end up doing know this:
you have a following of friends that will stick with you through thick and thin!

SO COME WHAT MAY!!!

Friends in the South Valley

Let's hope that you start drawing a salary. Bakotopia.com has home grown Matt Munoz at helm. I help him out with my Paperback Writer blog. Fresno Famous has Jarah, and soon Josh from the Bee. Modesto Famous has you. And from what I hear, the users are digging you. A good social networking site needs to connect to the people through a good community leader. Your work isn't easy. It's work!

Ok...I updated the site...

Due mostly to community feedback, my friend Daniel and I got down to the nuts and bolts of this thing last night and updated the site. It sure looks better and Los Siete Indios has to be the coolest looking bar on the planet!

Maybe I should have let the Bee take credit for the updates like they did with that whole comment fixing fiasco that I fixed.

Either way, our loyal readers (thanks guys) will be happier and life will be much more pleasant now!

Viva Modesto!

Greg Edwards is a cool cat (I'm not biased)

I know that someone isn't calling Greg "B-grade."

Viva Mojo

Viva Mojo. IM coming home people & will be busting a move. Hold on to your shorts.

Viva Greg Edwards

Never met the guys personally, but I here he’s a down to earth kind of guy. Try not to worry to much about what people might say about Mr. Edwards Those who know, know better. Trust me, It’s not easy booking gigs & filtering all the acts that want to play at Queen Bean & out of every 5 calls only 2 of them are coffee house style worthy. Not saying that the other three are no good, just saying that it just might not be the flavor were looking for, for that particular night. Keep up the great work Mr. Edwards. There’s no such thing as bad ink. Even if it’s inkless. You Da Man

Viva Mexico A Romantic Night Instead of Football

Viva Mexico never much for watchiung sports I’d rather play them.

Ok while IM at it, Viva Mexico! Hey gang last night here in Cabo and yes I had to get hooked up with a private dinner on the beach. It was so nice it was Me Nat & 200 ladies on the steps over looking the beach and us. I guess there was a Super Bowl party going on here & I was the only guy that didn’t go. Well’ me and 1 other guy. Although he was 80 years old blind & deaf. I was never much into sitting around a TV drinking & yelling at the Television. LOL Anyway it was an awesome night and the Chef came out to greet us personally. Actually he is the executive chef & is world renown. He has catered to Presidents/Dignitary’s & Movie Stars. & now he can add 1 more on his list A DJ LOL What an honor to have him come out and greet us. I think he has the sweets for Nat. She met him the other day here at the resort when he came out for a guest appearance during the cooking class. Hey Steve get ready to come over for some Tortilla soup Nat’s just dying to make it.

Ideas?..

Any ideas for the "Viva Mojo" shirts??? =-P

I was thinking...

Hey Merch -

First - you're the Merch Guy - why do you need our ideas?

Second - When you come up with the ideas for the shirts, make some signs to go with them....I was thinking a BUNCH of us could get together and use our freedom of speech/right to assemble outside Mr. Johnston's office at the Bee.....let's get Mojo hired!

Signs, Shirts, and People, OH MY!

AMEN! Let's do it...We'll have a "Viva la Mojo" rally or something like that.... He deserves it.

Merch

I'll be there...

We all see what the site is like with out Mojo... I'll come on down if you organize one...

Cool!

Now these pictures look like fun. I like people that leave sports alone and go dinners and simply go out. I remember when my husband would stay all night watching soccer. Now every time a soccer game is on we go out or play family games.

Family Games are Royal

Family games are tops sister! My wife and I love to travel and since we don’t have any kids, it makes things a little bit easier to travel. Kids we love them! Just haven’t got around to plan on having them. Still, when we are out on our vacations, it never ceases to amaze my wife how children come over to me and start conversations. Me, I always welcome them and their folks with a smile. My wife and I have already started planning our winter vacations. & just as soon as the temperature drops we are heading south for the winter. Quack, Quack.. The say you can’t take your stuff with you, that’s cool with me. But I am a firm believer that memories will last forever in this lifetime and beyond.
Here’s a few friends I met from Maui to Cancoon and all around where the sun shines in the winter.
PS We did a Royal Caribbean Cruise in January.. It was awesome and the rock wall was a thrill to conquer at sea.

Good article

Indeed it should be unfair for you to lose you job for an article like this. It really puts a smile on your face and it's not something that would start a flame anyway. Those pictures really look like fun, i have some from the time i went on a Royal Caribbean cruise and we had tons of fun, but i 'll post them a bit later, I don't have them atm.
