Weekend Update!
We have been busy here lately! This town never fails to amaze me. First we have all the hyphy problems and that turns into a race issue and now we have stupid kids beating the hell out of the homeless and laughing about it. I realize that every town has it's very own set of problems so there is no need to tell me that. But holy crap! It is getting dark and gloomy around here and that has nothing to do with the rain clouds that are overhead.
We need some positive energy up in here! It is Friday and I plan on doing some positive things this weekend. There is a an international horror film festival in Riverbank, good tunes at Queen Bean and if you want to really get the living hell scared of you, check out the Fright Factory! Stay tuned here. We may just start giving away tickets for the factory. They will even have local music nights! Is there really anything more scary than Jiggy? Just teasing. No hate mail needed!
About the music at Queen Bean, there may be something really special about to start growing in our scene. Now fill me in as always here because I don't know all the details and that is how we work this around here...
Jon Valenti is playing there tonight and I really like what this guy is doing. I hear that he played semi-pro baseball with The Bakersfield Blaze and then trained with The Giant's. But he has put down the ball for a bit and picked up a guitar and the guy makes some damn fine music. I have yet to see him live but I am excited about finally hearing some new acoustic music around here. It has been too long since we have heard something original and fresh. Let's show Jon some love and show him that Modesto loves a good musician. Come out and support him tonight.
Have a great weekend out there. Leave your bats, guns and mace at home and leave the poor homeless the hell alone. They have a rough enough life. Seriously, can you believe those sick little assholes were attacking the homeless? What the hell?
