Fall Air, photos and Jack Ass

It’s Jack Ass Day. That apparently is a big deal in The United States as kids all over stand in line to see Johnny Knoxville and his band of morons risk life and limb for the second feature-length fiasco of their not so brilliant careers. Does it say something about American Culture that our youth spends more time listening to these geniuses than our own president? That is the question of the day. What do you think?

So last night a buddy and I headed over to Mistlin Gallery to attend the reception for the latest showing of work by acclaimed Modesto photographer, Adrian Mendoza.

It says something special about an artist when you can look at a piece of his art and get choked up. A few of Mendoza’s photos had me staring in awe and fighting back tears. Thank you Mr. Mendoza. You touched me. That means a great deal to me.

I will take my children down to see Mendoza’s show this weekend because my 10 year old is really getting into taking photographs and I want her to be inspired.

Maybe I will see you out and about this weekend. I will be the guy with two beautiful little girls and a Chihuahua at my side. The girls will probably be covered in Ice Cream from Lourde’s. They usually are on the weekends. If you see us say hello. I always make time to talk to the people that care enough to talk to me.

No matter what you do this weekend, have some fun! The weather should be great. My wife and I had a great breakfast at Deva Café a few days ago on their patio and the brisk Fall air was incredible. Fall in the valley is a special time of year. Take a drive through the college area and watch the trees change color right before your eyes. Make room for the little things in life and hold someone that you love as close as you can.

If you are making plans for next week, I would love to see you at the benefit concert that my friends are having for me. I will finally have the chance to stand up and thank Modesto for supporting me so much as I fight the good fight in regard to my health.

Take care and be safe out there. Try not to get too hyphy.

Hyphy

Hope the music we provided at the after part wasn't too hyphy for you.

It was close....

We may have to ask the MPD but the music that you provided may have just been riot worthy. We don't want them to break out the dogs...again.

Dunno if you saw, but I kept

Dunno if you saw, but I kept cracking those hyphy jokes, calling each song a hyphy or hip-hop song. While I was doing that during one of the breaks between songs, three police officers walked in. Guess they heard the term "hyphy" from the street and panicked.
Actually kinda telling. We had no complaints, no phone calls to the PD and no large crowds. But say the word "hyphy" and they come running.
