For a few years now many of you have know him as "Each Day Counts" from eachdaycounts.com; or as the Art and Entertainment writer for the Pirate's Log - Modesto Junior College's small newspaper; since March of this year he's built a new group of followers as "Motown Mojo" from ModestoFamous.com. For many others, he's know as a father, husband, and friend. To all, he's know as man fighting to overcome a terminal disease.

Many of you know that I suffer from a rare terminal liver disease and that I am in need of a liver transplant. I have developed many friends in this community and they have decided that they want to throw a party to help raise some money for my wife and I to deal with my medical expenses. Goleman’s 1995 book, Emotional Intelligence, argues that emotions play a much greater role in thought, decision-making skills and individual success than is commonly acknowledged. It was on the New York Times’ best seller list for 18 months and has been translated into 30 languages. It has sold more than 5 million copies. His new book on social intelligence was released last week.
