Lara Price is an All American singer with a sultry stage presence and a voice that demands your attention-smoky, lonely, sexy, and powerful. Her music transcends the blues and crosses a line into music that is unequivocally superb. Lara's musical journey started at the young age of 6, taking piano lessons with Legendary 80's music innovator Howard Jones. At 12 she was singing solo and went on to train operatically with Dr. Lynn Berg at Boise State University. She arrived in the Bay Area in 1998 in search of her dream of singing in a band. Lara began running her own blues jam at JJ’s Blues, and was featured in an inspiring article about blues jams in the September 2000 issue of the Blues Revue. Lara fell in love with the blues without expecting to, "I didn't find the blues, the blues found me". She has come a long way in a short time, earning loyal fans worldwide. The journey of the Lara Price Blues Band includes four great CD's, a tour across the U.S.A. and China, and many performances at world renowned festivals such as the Monterey Blues Festival, San Jose Jazz Festival and Summer Solstice Blues Festival in Massachusetts. Lara and her band have shared the bill with headliners Etta James, Little Richard, James Brown, Bobby Blue Bland and many more. Lara also lent her talent to sing back-up with Triple Seven at the Fillmore in San Francisco, opening up for the pop band Smashmouth. The Lara Price Blues Band is currently featured on the Ruf Records international release "Blues Guitar Women" and has been written up as the "Hot Pick" on the CD by Guitar One Magazine. Band members are: guitar phenom Laura Chavez, Jack Cannon on bass, "Baldhead" Fred Rautmann plays drums, and Alex Specht is on keyboards. "I hope they don’t end up on the 'Best Bands That Never Made It' list." -Brad Kava, San Jose Mercury News » read more

Catch Blues Legend John Hammond at the Fat Cat Music House and Lounge in Modesto on June 11th, 2006. You can purchase tickets at tickets.com or call 209-524-1400. With a career that now spans in excess of three decades, John Hammond is one of handful of White blues musicians who was on the scene at the beginning of the first blues renaissance of the mid-'60s. That revival, brought on by renewed interest in folk music around the U.S., brought about career boosts for many of the great classic blues players, including Mississippi John Hurt, Rev. Gary Davis and Skip James. Some critics have described Hammond as a White Robert Johnson, and Hammond does justice to classic blues by combining powerful guitar and harmonica playing with expressive vocals and a dignified stage presence. Within the first decade of his career as a performer, Hammond began crafting a niche for himself that is completely his own: the solo guitar man, harmonica slung in a rack around his neck, reinterpreting classic blues songs from the 1930s,'40s and '50s. Yet, as several of his mid-'90s recordings for the Pointblank label demonstrate, he's also a capable bandleader who plays wonderful electric guitar. This guitar-playing and ensemble work can be heard on Found True Love and Got Love If You Want It, both for the Pointblank/Virgin label. » read more
